Motocaddy Masters champ wins second EuroPro Tour event

James Adams carded rounds of 70, 65, and 66 to win the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Clipper Logistics Championship by four shots, claiming his second tour win of the year.

Adams (Druids Heath Golf Club), who had already tasted victory at the Motocaddy Masters at Wychwood Park Golf Club, collected just a single bogey across 54 holes at Moor Allerton Golf Club.

“I feel great, it is hard to put the win into words but it makes everything worth it.”: said Adams, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

He added: “It’s probably the best I’ve ever played in a tournament. The weather was really tough, especially on the first day with the wind and heavy rain. The last two days have been great, to go bogey free across two rounds isn’t the norm for me.”

In total, Adams collected 13 birdies over 54 holes to win comfortably. His second win moves him to 5th in the Race To Amendoeira, from which the top five at the end of the season earn promotion to the Challenge Tour.

Adams’ second round was the joint lowest of the tournament, followed by a final round of 66 – the second lowest in a fantastic final round – a stellar effort taking into consideration a trophy was on the line.

On the chance of earning promotion to the Challenge Tour Adams said: “I haven’t really thought about it, I’ve never been in a better position in my career. I’ve played well this year, it’s really tough at this level with under-par cuts every week. I’m really looking forward to going out to Portugal and extending my season a little bit.”

Before his win at Wychwood, Adams had won just £430 in the Race To Amendoeira. But, just five events later the 23-year old had added £20,000 to his tour earnings with a great chance of earning promotion to the next tier of professional golf.

He said: “It’s been an incredible year, after winning at Wychwood I realised this tour was where I needed to be. It’s great knowing that whenever I’ve been in contention I’ve won.”

Elsewhere, Billy Hemstock (Teignmouth Golf Club) and Darryn Lloyd (Ping) both sneaked into the top 60 by no more than £350 after good performances at Moor Allerton, which means they will be heading to Portugal in October.

Ben Hall (Rushcliffe Golf Club) who lead heading into the final round finished in second place and leapt to 31st in the Race To Amendoeira meaning he will also compete in the Tour Championship.

Motocaddy S7 REMOTE gets cutting-edge upgrade

Motocaddy, the UK’s top-selling trolley brand, has given its popular S7 REMOTE electric trolley a stylish upgrade for the 2017 season, while retaining one of the most sophisticated guidance systems on the powered trolley market.

The latest S7 REMOTE incorporates a number of new improvements from the original hands free model introduced in 2015. These include a more compact fully rechargeable remote control Lithium handset that fits neatly into an integrated holder located on the underside of a new soft-touch ergonomic handle. The handset can also be topped up during play thanks to the patented USB port that can also charge GPS and mobile devices.

Along with technological advances, the latest new-look model features a streamlined battery tray to accommodate the sleek Lithium battery used to power it, along with distinctive branding on the signature S-Series frame in a smart new Graphite colourway.

“We’ve listened and reacted to suggested improvements from customers and friends in the media who have enjoyed using the S7 REMOTE and we believe the 2017 model ticks all the boxes for a remote-controlled trolley,” said Chairman David Wells.

“This is especially true of the compact remote control handset. It’s now much easier to tuck away when not in use and being able to recharge it out on the course is the real icing on the cake,” he added.

The responsive S7 REMOTE boasts a dual pressure control system that allows golfers to alter how much the trolley turns to the left or the right, simply by varying the pressure applied to buttons on the handset.

As well as the dual-pressure directional buttons, the user can also control the trolley’s speed going forwards or backwards depending on how long they hold the respective buttons down, plus stop and start the trolley in an instant with the pause and resume feature.

The S7 trolley incorporates a special mechanism that enables each of the two motors to help compensate for lateral slopes and maintain stability on challenging terrains. It also features an anti-tip wheel at the back, plus a fully-rotating front wheel to allow the trolley to travel smoothly with minimal additional guidance.

A 50-meter cut-out function stops the trolley from going out of range, while a hibernation setting brings it to a halt if the remote hasn’t been touched for more than 45 seconds.

In addition, the S7 REMOTE also includes clever electronics enabling the golfer to switch between the remote function and manual control mode simply by holding down the on/off button for a couple of seconds.

Completing the long list of standout features is the exclusive super-fast QUIKFOLD mechanism, allowing golfers to assemble or fold down the trolley in under five seconds, thanks to a simple sliding catch and the EASILOCK™ bag-to-trolley connection system common across the entire Motocaddy trolley and bag ranges.

Brilliant Belt wins PGA EuroPro World Snooker Championship

Alex Belt claimed his first win of the season at the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Jessie May World Snooker Championship at Collingtree Park Golf Club in Northampton.

Belt (Snainton Golf Centre) (69, 67, 65) buckled down on the final day, which saw the lead change a number of times between five different golfers, to claim the coveted £10,000 prize and trophy.

“I feel very thankful that I managed to get over the line. There was some great competition out there and even though I won by three shots, I could feel the other guys breathing down my neck”: said the 32-year old, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

It went down to the wire after James Frazer (Pennard Golf Club), who started the day as tournament leader, was a shot and hole behind on -14 as Belt tackled the 18th at Collingtree.

He said: “I knew James was on -14 so I needed a birdie on my last hole if I was to stand a chance of winning.”

Belt held it together and hit an excellent approach shot to within four-feet of the pin before putting for his sixth birdie of the day.

He said: “It was extremely satisfying when I got that last birdie, I really needed it to give James all the work to do on his last hole.”

The Yorkshire golfer’s final round was the joint lowest score of the tournament, and after Frazer hit a double bogey on the last hole, Belt’s win was all but sealed.

His win is his second at Collingtree Park, after the EuroPro Tour was last held at the course in 2013. He said: “I love this place, I’ve got good vibes here and really enjoyed playing the course.”</span

Belt now moves to 15th in the Race To Amendoeira with two events left in EuroPro Tour season. The top five golfers remain unchanged but Dermot McElroy jumps up two spots to 6th, just shy of the Challenge Tour positions.

Highlights from the Jessie May World Snooker Championship at Collingtree Golf Club will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, September 12. The EuroPro Tour continues with its penultimate event at Moor Allerton in the Clipper Logistics Championship, Wednesday, September 13 – Friday, September 15.

Min Kyu Kim claimed his second title in as many weeks at the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s FORE Business Championship.

Kim (Golfmind Korea) was the firm favourite heading into the final round after equalling the course record in his second round, carding a superb -9 (63).

However, the Korean blew the title race wide open after three bogies in his last three holes, forcing a play-off with Niall Kearney (The Royal Dublin).

Kearney was deserving of a play off at least, after he finished 12-under par, carding an excellent -8 (64) final round in the process.

Both players parred the first play-off hole, before Kearney bogeyed the 18th on the second attempt which Kim comfortably putted for par.

“I’m so happy with my second win, I played really well up until my final three holes”: said Kim, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

“I was really nervous heading into the play-off but I just tried to relax, manage my game, and tried to enjoy it. It’s been a really long day and I’m very tired but it felt great when that final putt fell in.”

Kim climbs to 2nd in the Race To Amendoeria with three events left, and faces a very real chance of challenging for the £250,000 four-win bonus, with current leader Chris Lloyd, in his current form.

He added: “Chris Lloyd is a great player and it’s a good feeling knowing I’m close to his total tour wins this year. I’d like to thank EuroPro Tour, East Sussex National Golf Club, and Golfmind Korea for all of their support this year.”

Elsewhere, Dermot McElroy (Ballymena Golf Club) shot an impressive six-under par final round to tie third place with Conor O’Neil (Mearns Castle Golf Academy) who shot a five-under par final round.

Highlights of the FORE Business Championship will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, September 5. The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour continues with the Jessie May World Snooker Golf Championship at Collingtree Park Golf Club, Wednesday, August 30 – Friday, September 1.

Korean teenager Kim dominates for maiden PGA Europro Tour victory

Min Kyu Kim carded rounds of 65, 67, 73 to win the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Pentahotels Championship by two shots to become the Tour’s youngest ever champion.

At just 16-years old, Kim (Golfmind Korea) claimed his first EuroPro Tour title at Caversham Heath Golf Club and lead from wire to wire.

The final day was marred by poor weather and saw lightning suspend play twice at 12.15pm and 2.15pm, before eventually resuming at 4.30pm.

Kim, who resumed his round on the 6th, weathered the storm to put an electric display in on the front nine, carding five birdies in the process. However, his back nine was anything but electric, bogies on the 13th and 14th reduced his lead to four shots, but back-to-back birdies in response re-established his commanding lead before a double bogey on 18.

“I am so happy and really impressed with my win”: said Kim, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

“I focused on my game and that really helped me. I was nervous, but I tried to not let the pressure get to me.

“I’d like to thank the EuroPro Tour, Caversham Heath, Golf Mind Korea, and the KJ Choi Foundation for all of their support."

Stiggy Hodgson (The Wisley Golf Club) carded a solid final round of four under par to finish twelve under par for the tournament. But he rarely threatened Kim’s lead, which started the day four shots ahead of the other golfers.

A problem around Kim’s scorecard being signed incorrectly meant the Korean was issued with a two-shot penalty, but he still edged the victory.

Kim climbs to 5th in the tour rankings, from which the top five at the end of the season earn promotion to the Challenge Tour.

Highlights from the Pentahotels Championship will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, August 29. The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour continues with the “FORE” Business Championship at East Sussex National GR&S, Wednesday, August 23 – Friday, August 25.

James Adams carded a final-round 67 to win the Motocaddy Masters by two shots on 10 under par at Wychwood Park Golf Club in Cheshire.

Adams (Druids Heath Golf Club) claimed his maiden HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour title on a day which saw the lead change hands on a number of occasions.

Jordan Wrisdale (Boston) started the day as tournament leader at nine under par but dropped off the pace to finish on seven under par.

Jonathan Thomson (Rotherham) came closest to challenging Adams, finishing eight under par for the tournament, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Norton Canes golfer who carded five birdies and an eagle on the last day.

“I feel pretty good, it’s a strange feeling, especially when I’ve had some tough weeks this season. I played three rounds this week that I can’t really remember and have ended up winning”, said Adams, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S5 CONNECT electric trolley as a special winning prize, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

A 67 round, the lowest score of the day including an eagle on the first, proved to be pivotal in clinching victory. Adams said,
“I had a good start, my tee shot on the first into the wind which bounced down the fairway slope set me up nicely for the eagle.”

His back nine didn’t start in a similar fashion though, a bogey on the tenth proved to only be a minor setback, as he responded with back to back birdies.

The win thrusts Adams into ninth in the Race To Amendoeria in only his third event this season. He said, “I will be playing on the EuroPro Tour for the rest of the year now, it’s a big jump up on this tour and coming first makes a big difference. I’m looking forward to next week and playing some great golf again.”

Highlights from the Motocaddy Masters at Wychwood Park Golf Club will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, August 22. The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour continues next week at Cavesham Heath Golf Club.

Jordan Wrisdale holds a two-shot lead on nine under par (65, 70) ahead of the final round of the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Motocaddy Masters at Wychwood Park in Cheshire.

Wrisdale (Boston) carded a solid second-round 70, two under par, to maintain the same lead he held at the end of the first round.

He said: “I hit some good shots at the right time today, I wouldn’t say I played fantastic but I managed to get it done and grind a result out.”

Picking up a total of three birdies including one on the difficult par 4 14th hole, and just one bogey, the 21-year old feels confident heading into the final round as leader.

He said: “I’m hoping the experience I’ve had from my three-previous top 10 finishes this season will help me tomorrow. At the start of the week I said -14 or -15 would win the tournament and that’s still well within my reach.”

He is closely followed by Steve Uzzell (Hornsea Golf Club) (67, 70) and 16-year old Min Kyu Kim (Golfmind Korea) (68, 69), both at seven under par, and will be looking to produce strong finishes.

The second round of play at Wychwood also saw South Africa’s Darryn Lloyd (Ping) hit a hole in one on the 6th hole, and James Wilkinson (Penrith Golf & FootGolf Centre) make the cut with two eagles in his last three holes.

Three-time winner on this year’s tour Chris Lloyd (The Kendleshire) finished level par (70, 70) after hitting the back nine in 40 on his second round.

A cut to the leading 50 professionals and ties has now been made, with those at one over par or better proceeding to play the final round, after which the winner will take home £10,000 from a £50,000 fund as well as a brand new Motocaddy S5 CONNECT electric trolley as a special winning prize.

Jordan Wrisdale carded a superb seven under par first round (65) to hold a confident two shot lead over Robert Laino, Miles Collins, and Steve Uzzell tied for second place at the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Motocaddy Masters at Wychwood Park Golf Club.

Wrisdale (Boston) started on the back nine, picking up three birdies and just one bogey, before flying to the top spot on the front nine where he collected five more birdies in an impressive first round.

The 21-year old has had a strong season, taking three top 10 finishes this season already, and is looking to emulate a similar finish this week.

He said: “I hit a lot of really good iron shots today and I also holed some putts well too; I managed to grab a chip in today which always helps.”

Laino (Woburn Golf Club), Collins (Stoke by Nayland Golf Club), and Uzzell (Hornsea Golf Club) carded impressive five under par (67) rounds and will be looking to continue their fine form into the second round.

Collins said: “I holed some great putts today which was the main thing, and it will be nice to try and hit the same score tomorrow.”

The 14th hole, a 438-yard par 4, proved challenging for a host of players; 26 of whom scored a double bogey or worse in the first round.

The Motocaddy Masters continues with the second round on Thursday (August 10), after which a cut to the leading 50 professionals and ties will be made. The final round takes place on Friday (August 11).

Chris Lloyd moved a step closer to the coveted £250,000 prize with a record equalling third title win in a single HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour season at the Nokia Masters at Mannings Heath Golf Club & Wine Estate.

Lloyd (The Kendleshire) fought off fierce competition in the form of Guy Woodman (ProAgenda.com) who scored a final round of nine under par (63) to finish -12.

It wasn’t enough to stop Lloyd who collected nine birdies and just one bogey in a final round of eight under par (64) to finish -14.

“I’m delighted, it was a very exciting day. I knew if I got off to a quick start I might have a chance,” said Lloyd, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

Reflecting on his impressive final round of 64 he said: “My putting was key, in my previous two wins my putting won me the tournaments, after a change in clubs recently I went back to my old faithful this week and it certainly did the trick.”

Lloyd, who hit both the front and back nines in 32 respectively, started four shots behind tournament leader Andrew Cheese (Sutton Coldfield Golf Club) but finished seven ahead of him by the end.

Completing his final round in the same group as closest rival to top spot in the Race To Amendoeira Nick Marsh, Lloyd remained unfazed and asserted control early on.

He said: “It’s nice to lay down your mark and let them know who was boss today. I’m sure Nick will have some strong weeks ahead though.”

On equalling the EuroPro Tour win record and moving one win from the £250,000 four-win bonus he said: “It has just got very real, I’m playing in five more events with the chance to win the money and I like my odds.”

Lloyd extends his lead at the top of the Race To Amendoeira by more than £14,000 with five events remaining before the EuroPro Tour Championship in Portugal.

Sam Connor carded a final-round 68 to win the Matchroom Sport Championship by seven shots on 20 under par on a dry and windy day at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Bedfordshire.

Connor (Alsager Golf & Country Club) made this his third EuroPro title, after two wins in 2015, and lead from start to finish on the final day.

Jonathan Thomson (Rotherham) and James Simpson (Close House Golf Club) came closest to challenging Connor, carding fantastic -7 and -6 final rounds respectively, both ending the tournament on -13. It wasn’t enough to stop Connor though who responded to a putting foul challenge on the 5th, which wasn’t upheld, with three consecutive birdies.

“I feel really good, it’s not really sunk in that I’ve won yet.”, said Connor, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

On the putting incident on the 5th he said, “It wasn’t even a thought in my mind at the time. It wasn’t until Jack [Colegate] (Deangate Ridge Golf Club) told me he thought I double hit it. But it didn’t affect my mind set.”

“It was a mental test and one that I overcame in that situation, I handled it really well and focused on my game. My long game has been average this week for me but my putting and short game has been off the charts all week; it feels good to putt so well for three days.”

Connor, who bogeyed just one of his 54 holes this week, said: “It’s been coming for a while now, I’ve worked really hard and it is nice to get a bit of payback for it.”

Connor climbs to eighth on the tour rankings, from which the top five at the end of the season earn promotion to the Challenge Tour. With this win he will now receive an invite to the Challenge Tour event held at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa.

Jonathan Caldwell carded a final-round 69 to win the COBRA PUMA GOLF Championship by two shots on nine under par on a wet and windy day at Machynys Peninsula Golf Club in Llanelli.

The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour event was suspended for 1 hour 45 minutes in the early stages of the final round due to heavy and persistent rain causing standing water on the course. At that stage Caldwell (Clandeboye Golf Club) led on seven under par, with overnight leader Chris Evans (Hatchford Brook Golf Club) having started with a double and then triple bogey.

Jason Timmis (Greenway Hall Golf Club) put pressure on the Northern Irishman with a fantastic final-round 67, five under par, to finish seven under but four birdies to just one bogey on the back nine saw Caldwell to nine under and his second EuroPro title.

“It has been a long day, but I am absolutely over the moon,” said Caldwell, who wins £10,000 as well as a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses.

“I made two par saves at 16 and 17 and they were massive. There were always going to be holes where you have to scramble and it just happened to be two of my last three, but I am delighted to get the job done.

“It was a game of patience. Pars were huge out there and birdies are even bigger. It is massive to get the win, you need to on this tour, and it would be great to get another win and secure that top five position on the Race To Amendoeira.”

Caldwell climbs to third on the tour rankings, from which the top five at the end of the season earn promotion to the Challenge Tour.

Greg Payne (Camberley Heath / MindSet4Golf) finished third on five under while five golfers shared fourth having finished four under par, including 2016 Amateur Champion Scott Gregory.

Highlights of the COBRA PUMA GOLF Championship will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, August 1. The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour continues with the Matchroom Sport Championship at Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa, Wednesday, July 26 – Friday, July 28.

A final-round 73, one-over-par, saw Marsh (Huddersfield Golf Club) complete the tournament seven under, the same score as Irishman Brendan McCarroll (Narin & Portnoo Golf Club), who had birdied the last two to record a final-round 70.

The duo headed to the 17th tee where McCarroll made a good up and down after narrowly avoiding the rough from the tee and then a greenside bunker with his second shot, while Marsh missed a 15 foot putt for birdie.

The 18th was the second play-off hole and Marsh will feel lucky to have escaped with par. He was in the rough off the tee and then watch McCarroll miss an eight-foot birdie putt for what would have been the win.

The pair then returned to 17 where both again made par, before Marsh sunk his birdie putt from just inside 15 feet for the victory.

Marsh wins £10,000 and also takes home a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO electric trolley with lithium battery, Bushnell Pro X2 Range Finder and Bolle sunglasses. He climbs to second on the tour’s Race To Amendoeira money list, from which the top five at the end of the season graduate to the Challenge Tour.

Motocaddy Upgrades App to Sync with Smart Cart

Motocaddy, the top-selling trolley brand, has upgraded its free GPS app in preparation for the launch of the revolutionary S5 CONNECT electric trolley this week.

Introduced at the start of the year, the Motocaddy GPS App has already reached 25,000 downloads and can be synced with the world’s first ‘Smart Cart’ or used as a stand-alone, fully-featured mobile GPS device on any compatible smartphone.

In addition to numerous other upgrades, the latest version of the App features a new ‘Pairing Mode’ that allows golfers to sync the app to the S5 CONNECT via Bluetooth® connection. The trolley’s digital display can then be used in place of a conventional GPS to provide golfers with front, middle and back distances to the green (in yards or metres), along with the par of the hole, clock and round timer.

In addition, the new ‘Push Notification’ option enables golfers to receive and display notifications on the trolley handle, alerting them to a missed call, text message, email or range of app alerts, including WhatsApp & Facebook.

Notifications can be pre-set through the app to receive as many or as little as the golfer requires out on the course. The smartphone remains connected, even when securely placed in a golf bag pocket or being charged using the trolley’s patented USB charging port, while the app provides details of 36,000 courses worldwide.

The app has also been developed to offer ‘Over The Air’ (OTA) updates to the trolley, allowing the S5 CONNECT display screen to be seamlessly updated with exciting new features and upgrades as soon as they become available.

Along with the new updates, the Motocaddy GPS App also includes shot planning control that shows the distance to any point on each hole; measurement of the distance achieved by any shot; local course search and automatic hole advancement; a round timer to assist with pace-of-play; detailed greenside information and communication in five different languages (English, French, German, Spanish & Swedish).

The Motocaddy GPS App is available free on iOS and Android from the Apple App Store and on Google Play.

Tarver-Jones wins 2016 PGA EuroPro Tour Championship

<img src="http://www.motocaddy.ie/media/wysiwyg/blog-images/2016/blog_EPT_tourchamps_520x285.jpg" alt="Peter Tarver-Jones" width=520" height="285" />

Peter Tarver-Jones won the Matchroom Sport Tour Championship by sudden-death play-off to seal an immediate return to the Challenge Tour.

The Worthing Golf Club pro shot a course-record equalling 63, nine under par, to join Richard James (Aberdovey Golf Club; 68, 70, 65) on -13 at the end of the final tournament of the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour season at Desert Springs Resort in Spain.

Despite a difficult lie, Tarver-Jones (70, 70, 63) nailed his approach on the first additional hole to within four feet and held his nerve to take the title, and a £20,000 winners’ cheque which propelled him to second on the Race To Desert Springs Order of Merit.

With the season now complete, the top five on the tour standings earn a category on next year’s Challenge Tour. Matthew Cort (Beedles Lake Golf Club; 70, 66, 69) was among four players tied third on -11 and consolidated his long-standing place at the top of the money list.

Curtis Griffiths (Wentworth) takes third on the rankings with James fourth and Mark Laskey (Brocket Hall/Team Honma) completing the top five, while James also won the Rookie of the Year trophy after collecting a runners-up cheque for £10,000.

However, there was agony for Billy Hemstock (Teignmough Golf Club). Having twice previously finished seventh on the Order of Merit, this year he missed out on the top five by a shade over £600.

For Tarver-Jones though, there was only delight. Two years ago he sealed promotion to the Challenge Tour via the EuroPro Tour Order of Merit but returned this summer after a disappointing 2015. But he was able to win when it mattered and closed out the season by earning an immediate return to Europe’s second tier.

“My heart is pounding,” he said shortly after making the winning putt which also earned him a brand new Motocaddy S1 Lithium trolley, Bushnell Tour X Range Finder and Bolle Sunglasses.

“I feel good, it was great fun today and in the play-off I just tried to have some fun. I hit a great second shot and had a good putt. I was aggressive today, I had no option but to be. I had played really well in the second round but didn’t hole anything whereas today I holed a few putts."

Highlights will air on Sky Sports on Tuesday, November 1 and a season review will be broadcast over the Christmas period. Highlights of all HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour events are also available on YouTube at www.youtube.com/PGAEuroProTour.

Motocaddy has been selected as the ‘Official Electric Trolley’ of the PGA EuroPro Tour for an eleventh consecutive year.

We are pleased to announce the introduction of an advanced version of the hugely popular S1 model featuring downhill speed control and the UK’s first electronic parking brake.

The new S1 DHC electric trolley incorporates the same features as the latest 2016 S1 model, but can maintain a constant speed while moving down a gradient - thanks to a special single motor that offers downhill braking coupled with an electronic parking brake.

The motor automatically adjusts its power output to control the rate of descent without the golfer having to make any adjustment to the pre-hill speed setting, while the exclusive parking brake will hold its position even on the steepest of slopes thanks to a proven solenoid braking system.

As well as the obvious advantage of greater control on undulating golf courses, the trolley is significantly lighter in weight than previous dual-motored models boasting similar functionality for demanding terrain.

“A growing number of customers were asking us for a downhill control model,” said Neil Parker, Sales Director. “It’s proved itself in markets where golf course gradients are often more severe and we believe demand here will be significant.”

The new S1 DHC trolley is available from your local Motocaddy retailer with a choice of Standard or Extended range Lithium battery.

Cort conquers Carrick play-off for Motocaddy Masters title

Matthew Cort claimed his second HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour win of the season with a play-off victory in the Motocaddy Masters at The Carrick on Loch Lomond.

Cort (Beedles Lake Golf Club; 69, 68, 73) began the day at five under par but despite shooting a two-over-par 73 in his final round to join Greg Payne (Chobham Golf Club; 71, 70, 69), Mark Young (Clitheroe; 69, 70, 71) and playing partner and roommate Andrew Marshall (Bawburgh Golf Club; 69, 68, 73) in a four-way play-off on the 18th.

Payne, Marshall and Cort all found the green in two on the extra hole, with Young on in three after finding the rough from the tee. Payne and Marshall, however, had long putts and despite knocking them close had to watch on as Cort sunk a 12-foot birdie putt for the win, having bogeyed the 18th in regulation play needing a par for the win.

“I thought I had blown it coming down the last in regulation play,” admitted Cort, who wins a brand new Motocaddy trolley of his choice, a Bushnell Tour X Range Finder and Bolle Sunglasses as well as the £10,000.

“I started pretty well but then ended up a couple over par for the day. Myself and Andy thought we were out of it. It was a funny day and there were some tricky pin positions and the guys must have struggled.

“I hit a good driver and six iron in the play-off and it was nice to hole the putt. I have always seemed to win by a couple of shots when I have won tournaments so it was nice to win one where I needed to hole a putt, it is a great feeling.

“To be top of the Order of Merit is great. I have only played three events so it is amazing to have two wins and an eighth. When I first entered my first event I didn’t expect to have two wins under my belt so fast. I will go home, enjoy the weekend and start working on the next one.”

Cort’s win means Payne slips to second on the Race To Desert Springs but with two outright second placed finishes and this tied second, the Chobham golfer has further cemented his place in the all-important top five.

The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s next stop is the Lookers Championship at Close House in Newcastle, where the tournament runs from Wednesday, July 27 until Wednesday, July 29.

Highlights of the Motocaddy Masters air on Sky Sports on Tuesday, July 26.

Roommates Matthew Cort and Andrew Marshall share a one-shot lead on five under par heading into the final round of the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Motocaddy Masters at The Carrick on Loch Lomond.

Both have carded rounds of 69 and 68 so far on the stunning par-71 course and will tee it up together in Thursday’s final round. Cort (Beedles Lake Golf Club) will be hunting his second EuroPro win of the season while Marshall (Bawburgh Golf Club) was a winner on the tour at Hawkstone Park last summer.

Both have an abundance of experience and played on the European Tour at the same time in the 2000s but Marshall knows he is up against an in-form friend as he vies for the £10,000 winner’s cheque.

“Matt and I are rooming together funnily enough, so it will be interesting tomorrow” said Marshall. “We haven’t roomed together for a while. Tomorrow will be a lot of fun.

“We both have a lot of experience. He did well here last year, I didn’t but I do like the course. The weather plays a factor because it can bring a lot of trouble into play.

“Matt had the tougher half of the draw and he had a win a couple of weeks ago in windy weather, so I would expect him to do quite well tomorrow. I have been struggling of late but hopefully it is coming back. He is playing well, he is the man in form at the moment.”

Cort won the Dawson and Sanderson Classic at Longhirst Hall two weeks ago and success at The Carrick would propel him to the top of the all-important Race To Desert Springs, from which the top five at the end of the season earn Challenge Tour exemptions for 2017.

Ben Hall (Cento Group) is third on four under par, just one behind the leading duo, while Sandeep Grewal and Mark Young (Clitheroe) are two off the pace.

A cut to the leading 50 players and ties has now been made with all those four-over-par or better advancing to Thursday’s final round.

Spectator entry is free of charge and live scoring can be found at www.europrotour.com. Highlights of the Motocaddy Masters will air on Sky Sports on Tuesday, July 26.

Jack Colegate and Kit Holmes share the 18-hole lead in the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Motocaddy Masters at The Carrick on Loch Lomond after shooting five-under-par opening rounds of 66.

The pair are trailed by one shot by Ben Hall (Cento Group) and Luke Johnson (Kings Lynn Golf Club) on a day which saw just 19 of the 165-man field card under-par rounds.

Holmes (Hunstanton Golf Club) was the first to set the five-under par pace after carding an unblemished 66 on the picturesque 7,082-yard course. He made birdies at the 2nd, 5th and 9th on the front nine and on both par-five holes on the back nine – the 11th and 15th.

Colegate (Deangate Ridge Golf Club) didn’t have the best of starts, bogeying the par-four 10th. But he closed his first nine with a hat-trick of birdies from the 16th and made it five in a row when he broke par at the 1st and 2nd.

The Kent golfer then joined Holmes at the top of the leaderboard with a birdie at the 3rd, before seeing out his final five holes to par to sign for a 66.

With Hall and Johnson sharing third, three golfers are tied fifth on three under par, two back from the leading duo. Alex Wrigley (Hartlepool Golf Club), Luke Goddard (Hendon) and Ben Storey (Woburn Golf Club) are shot 68 on the par-71 course for their first round.

The Motocaddy Masters is the sixth event of the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour season and is played over 54 holes with a cut to the leading 50 players and ties made after the second round.

Spectator entry is free throughout the event and live scoring can be found at www.europrotour.com. A two-hour highlights package from the tournament will be broadcast on Sky Sports on Tuesday, July 26.

Research conducted by the PGA EuroPro Tour among its up and coming professional golfers shows that Motocaddy is the preferred brand of choice for those using a powered trolley.

The survey amongst players on Europe’s third-tier Tour revealed more than 65% of the field regularly use a trolley in competitive rounds, with over half of those Pros opting to play with the market-leading powered trolley brand – almost twice as many as the nearest competitor.

“Research plays a key role for us in developing new models and it’s great to see so many players using Motocaddy trolleys on the EuroPro Tour and providing us with vital feedback on performance at a high level,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher.

The survey also revealed that players chose to use a powered trolley for three main reasons: to avoid carrying on the course (41%), keep equipment dry (21%) and generally feel more energised during and after the round (19%).

The news comes ahead of the title-sponsored ‘Motocaddy Masters,’ taking place at The Carrick from the 12-14th July and highlights the long-standing relationship with the EuroPro Tour, now into its 11th year as the Official Electric Trolley. Players are competing for more than £800,000 worth of prize money this year, with the top five golfers on the Order of Merit awarded a 2017 Challenge Tour card.

The Motocaddy S1 trolley has won the prestigious 'Electric trolley of the Year' title for the second consecutive year at the Foremost Golf industry awards in Harrogate.

The Foremost Golf group in the UK and Ireland is made up of almost 1,000 golf professionals and the three Motocaddy trolley nominations received over 85% of the votes cast for the coveted trolley sector.

Following the same accolade for the S1 last year, the world's top-selling powered trolley has continued to go from strength to strength and is widely recognised as the most popular powered trolley on the market.

“We’re delighted to win this award for the second year running,” said Neil Parker, Motocaddy Sales Director. “To receive such a high percentage of votes from many of our valued retailers is testament to the support we receive and we will continue to work hard to develop future product innovations and offer even better service,” he added.

Introducing the brand new S7 REMOTE - Take Control

We are excited to announce the launch of our first remote control model, boasting one of the most sophisticated guidance systems on the electric trolley market.

The innovative S7 REMOTE - which features the same frame design as the award-winning S-Series range - comes with a dual pressure control system that allows golfers to alter how much the trolley turns to the left or the right, simply by varying the pressure applied to buttons on the handset. As well as the dual-pressure directional buttons, the user can also control the trolley's speed going forwards or backwards depending on how long they hold the respective buttons down on the remote control device.

To maintain stability in challenging terrain, the S7 incorporates a special mechanism that enables the two motors to help compensate for lateral slopes. It also features a rear anti-tip wheel, as well as a fully-rotating front wheel to allow the trolley to travel smoothly without requiring additional guidance. A 50 meter cut-out function stops the trolley from going out of range, while a hibernation setting brings it to a halt if the remote hasn't been touched for more than 45 seconds.

Clever electronics also allow the golfer to switch between the remote function and manual control mode by holding down the on/off button for one second.

In addition to its impressive remote control features, the S7 REMOTE also includes our patented USB charging port to charge GPS devices from the battery, plus a speed indicator and battery meter.

The S7 REMOTE has the added bonus of incorporating the two standout features from the 2014 range - QUIKFOLD and EASILOCK™. One of the easiest assembly mechanisms on the market, QUIKFOLD allows golfers to fold or unfold the trolley in as little as five seconds thanks to a simple sliding catch; while the EASILOCK™ bag-to-trolley connection system removes the need for a lower bag strap, thanks to two holes on the S7's bag support aligned with two removable locking pins on the base of any of our latest bag models.

The new S7 REMOTE trolley comes with a Motocaddy 20ah Lithium battery suitable for 18 holes on a dual-motored model and is available in Black and Alpine colour options.

Motocaddy has been announced as the ‘Official Electric Trolley’ of the PGA EuroPro Tour for a tenth consecutive year ahead of the season-opening event at Celtic Manor on 13th May.

The latest partnership will see a Motocaddy electric trolley presented to the winner of all 15 events on this season’s Tour.
“We’re delighted to be working with Motocaddy once again and continue to value their support which has been fantastic over the past decade,” said PGA EuroPro Tour Managing Director Eddie Hearn. “When you see the Tour on television, it’s noticeable that a lot of the players use a Motocaddy trolley because of the quality, reliability and features it offers.”

The winning trolley prize will be accompanied by an increasingly popular Lithium battery, which provides a five-times-longer lifespan than lead-acid equivalents and offers a more lightweight and compact design to golfers.

Introducing the BIGGEST ever Motocaddy golf bag range

We are pleased to announce the launch of our most comprehensive range of cart bags with 17 different options designed to help golfers coordinate a bag to match their trolley.

Bolstered by the positive reaction to the new Dry-Series waterproof bag, we have also upgraded the range with eye-catching new colour configurations such as orange on our top-selling Pro-Series model and fuchsia on the popular Lite-Series bag. Every model in the 2015 bag range – including the Club-Series – incorporates our innovative EASILOCK™ trolley-to-bag connection system launched last year.

The Dry-Series is our first waterproof cart bag and also the most technical we have produced. A durable 2000mm-coated waterproof fabric, heat-sealed seams and thermo-sealed, nylon-coated zips have been put through testing showers to ensure that the contents of the bag remain dry inside. The bag weighs less than 2kg and is available in three colour options (Black/Red, Black/Blue and Black/Lime).

Made from premium quality PU material, the feature-packed Pro-Series bag is now available in eight different colour-ways – Alpine/Lime, Alpine/Blue, Alpine/Orange, Alpine/Red, Black/Red, Black/Orange, Black/Blue, Black/Lime. Each bag incorporates 14-full length club dividers, external putter well, umbrella holder, towel hook and pen holder, plus rain hood.

The stylish Club-Series bag incorporates easy-grab handles to move the bag on and off the cart, as well as seven spacious pockets, including dedicated compartments for valuables and beverages. The Club-Series bag is available in Black/Red, Black/Blue and Black/Lime.

As the name implies, the Lite-Series boasts an extremely lightweight design at just 2.2kg. Made from a super-lightweight nylon fabric and built to a streamlined design, the bag doesn’t compromise on features, boasting 14 club dividers and six pockets. The Lite-Series comes in Black/Red, Black/Lime and ladies Black/Fuchsia options.

Introducing the NEW Dry-Series waterproof golf bag

We are pleased to announce the extension of our award-winning golf bag range with the introduction of our first waterproof model, designed to perform in all weather conditions.

Weighing less than 2kg, the ultra-lightweight and hi-tech Motocaddy Dry-Series bag has been constructed using a 2000mm-coated waterproof fabric to ensure complete protection from the rain for both golf clubs and accessories. As well as hard-wearing zips that are both thermo-sealed and nylon-coated, the top-of-the-range bag also boasts a special ‘zipper garage’ that further shields the zips from rainfall.

“The new Dry-Series is the most technical bag Motocaddy has ever produced and the product of some serious R&D investment,” said Motocaddy Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher. “It’s made from a waterproof nylon fabric selected to offer maximum waterproofing and ultimate durability, while all of the bag’s features are designed specifically for use on a trolley.”

The Dry-Series incorporates seven spacious pockets with innovative heat-welded seams to help keep water out. Each pocket has been positioned carefully to make it easier to access balls, accessories or clothing from the bag when on a trolley or golf buggy. There is also a useful insulated cooler pocket for holding cold drinks and a velour-lined valuables pocket to store important personal belongings.

Other notable features on the Dry-Series bag include 14 full-length dividers to hold clubs securely, an integrated umbrella sleeve and a fully-waterproof rain hood that can be simply attached to the top of the bag when needed.

As with every new Motocaddy bag, the Dry-Series features the exclusive EASILOCK™ technology, a secure bag-to-trolley connection system that removes the need for a lower bag strap thanks to two holes on the trolley’s bag support aligned with two locking pins on the bag. The two pins on the base of the bag are removable, so golfers have the option of taking them off to fit an older Motocaddy trolley or other branded models on the market.

Saltman tops Race to El Gouna to earn 2015 Challenge Tour card

Elliot Saltman shot a final-round 70 to win the Visit Egypt Tour Championship at El Gouna Golf Club with a 54-hole score of eight under par, and the £15,000 winner’s prize has catapulted him to the top of the final PGA EuroPro Tour Race To El Gouna.

The Scot has earned a category on the 2015 Challenge Tour and will be joined by Jack Senior, Peter Tarver-Jones, James Watts and Stiggy Hodgson on Europe’s second-tier tour after they also finished in the top five on the Race To El Gouna.

Saltman (Archerfield Links Golf Club) began the final round with a two-stroke lead on six under and birdies at the second, fourth and ninth took him to nine under. Laurie Canter (Saltford Golf Club) and James Frazer (Pennard Golf Club) stayed in touch for most of the round, and Canter briefly levelled with Saltman at eight under thanks to birdies at 11 and 12, just as Saltman bogeyed the 11th.

Saltman returned to nine under with a birdie at the 13th. Canter signed for a final-round 68 (four under par), the best score of the day, to finish the tournament seven under. That left Saltman two clear as he came down 18 and though he made bogey after finding a fairway bunker, the Scot claimed a wire-to-wire victory for his first EuroPro Tour win since success at Fota Island in 2012.

“Deep down I thought I had a chance this week,” said Saltman. “I came into the tournament knowing my game was in really good shape. But to actually pull off the win, and in the circumstances, has really proved to myself that I am capable of doing it under pressure.

“Looking back, three rounds under par in windy conditions, I should congratulate myself. It is playing very, very tough. The scoring was good today and the boys did well trying to chase me down. The course is in great, great condition and you cannot let up for one moment.

“It is massive to win the Race To El Gouna, it is something I said I wanted to do at the start of the season.

Nick McCarthy (Moortown Golf Club) finished the tournament third on five under, three back, while Frazer took fourth on four under.

A two-hour highlights package of the Visit Egypt Tour Championship will be broadcast on Sky Sports HD on Tuesday, November 11.

Motocaddy has been selected as the ‘Official Electric Trolley’ of the PGA EuroPro Tour for a ninth consecutive year. The PGA Europro Tour is the leading developmental tour in Europe with the top five players from the Order of Merit receiving exemptions onto the 2015 European Challenge Tour.

The compact-folding Motocaddy M1 PRO trolley was crowned golf’s ‘Most Innovative Product’ for the second successive year at the 2014 Foremost Golf Awards ceremony held at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on Wednesday night (Wednesday 8th October).

Foremost Golf group members – many of whom were present at the ceremony and attending the annual Golf Show at the Harrogate International Centre – voted the M1 PRO ahead of several other successful golf products, including TaylorMade’s Speedblade Iron and the long-lasting LitePower Lithium battery - also distributed by Motocaddy.

The M1 PRO trolley has transformed the way golfers travel to and from the course since its launch last season, thanks to an innovative design that allows it to be folded 40% smaller than previous Motocaddy models. It has more recently been joined by the equally small folding, gadget-packed M3 PRO electric trolley and lightweight M1 Lite push model, which can boast an even smaller fold capacity.

Motocaddy’s S1 trolley was also recognised at the ceremony – hosted by BBC presenter Andrew Cotter – for its performance in 2014, picking up the Foremost Golf ‘Trolley Model of the Year’ prize.

The feature-packed M3 PRO was one of the main attractions in Golf Monthly’s annual trolley test, conducted recently at the stunning St Georges Hill Golf Club.

Testing 12 of the top electric trolleys over the course of 27 holes, the UK’s best-read golf magazine selected Motocaddy’s flagship model as one of just three powered trolleys especially recommended to its readers.

“This model is the ultimate choice if storage space is at a premium but you don’t want to sacrifice any performance out on the course,” GM concluded.

The magazine’s equipment guru Paul O’Hagan also gave his approval to the S1 PRO. “A joy to use on the course…it cruises around with ease and looks fantastic,” was his verdict.

Golf Monthly also zoned in on the brand’s bag innovation when highlighting the benefits of using a cart bag over a carry model. “If you’re buying a trolley it will make a lot of sense to consider a bag by the same manufacturer…for example, Motocaddy’s excellent EASILOCK system removes the need to a lower strap, and the bag will stay in place without any trouble.”

You can check out the Golf Monthly trolley test in full by reading the magazine's November issue, on sale until 30 October.

The chief tester also picked up on the brand’s new standout bag technology, saying: “I love the EASILOCK system, it’s effective and does away with the tedious bottom strap and saves my ailing back.”

In announcing the Motocaddy M3 PRO as the winner of the Gold Award, Today’s Golfer also joined forces with the brand to provide readers with key tips on looking after their electric trolley and battery.

We are pleased to announce the launch of two brand new promotional videos highlighting the innovative EASILOCK™ and QUIKFOLD features launched exclusively with this season's Motocaddy range.

Presented by trick-shot specialist and PGA Professional Jeremy Dale, the short videos demonstrate how both features work and join the existing S1, S1 PRO, S3 PRO, M1 PRO, M3 PRO and ‘Time To Go Lithium’ videos launched earlier this year – all of which are available to watch on our 'Video Vault'.

The exclusive EASILOCK™ system – featured across all new Motocaddy trolleys and bags this year – is designed to lock the cart bag onto the trolley and remove the need for a lower bag strap. Two holes on the trolley’s bag support are aligned with two pins on the base of all new Motocaddy cart bags; ensuring golfers can lock their bag onto the trolley before using the upper bag strap to secure it completely.

The new QUIKFOLD folding system has been in development for over a year and has offered the S1 PRO and S3 PRO models with one of the simplest folding systems on the market, thanks to a clever sliding catch that activates the mechanism and then locks the trolley once folded up or down.

After presenting the videos, Dale said: “Having put the trolleys through their paces during the filming, I can see how each one meets the different needs of golfers and just how good the new models are.”

Neil Chaudhuri wins Motocaddy Masters at The Carrick

Neil Chaudhuri claimed his first professional title with victory in the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour’s Motocaddy Masters at The Carrick on Loch Lomond on Friday.

The Leicester golfer collects £10,000 and a brand new top-of-the-range Motocaddy M3 Pro after finishing eight under par for his 54 holes, four clear of his nearest challengers. Mark Murphy and two-time European Tour winner Bradley Dredge shared second on four under.

Chaudhuri (www.specialisteyes.co.uk) began the day one clear of Murphy on six under, and shot a final-round 69 for two under, while Murphy carded a final-round 72 on the par 71 course and takes home £3,750 and one of Motocaddy’s recently launched M1 Lite Push Trolleys. Dredge carded the best round of the day, a four-under 67 and takes home the same amount of £3,750 and a brand new Motocaddy S1 PRO. As Dredge and Murphy tied for second the Motocaddy trollies were awarded based on Order of Merit position.

Winner Chaudhuri had led for most of the tournament and maintained control throughout the final round with birdies at 14 and 15 seeing him pull away from the challenge of Dredge, who carded a four-under final-round 67.

“It is my first win in nearly five years as a professional,” said Chaudhuri. “It means a lot because I really struggled for my first couple of years as a pro. I stuck at it and I feel really proud to have won today.

“I went to Qualifying School earlier in the year and only just got my card, so I felt lucky to be playing on the Tour this year. I have been improving week on week and it went pretty well this week.

“You have to avoid the bunkers here, they are so severe. I stuck to the same game plan all week and that was to go for accuracy.

“It is such a huge first prize to win £10,000 and that bumps you towards the top of the Order of Merit. A lot can change in a week. Ultimately I want to be on the European Tour and what we are all here for is to get onto the Challenge Tour and be one step away from the European Tour.”

Neil Fenwick (Dunbar Golf Club), James Maw (Rockliffe Hall) and Max Williams (Cuddington Golf Club) shared fourth on one under, while Nick McCarthy’s second-round 65 (-6) has been confirmed as a new course record at The Carrick.

Neil Chaudhuri shot a second consecutive 68, three under par, to lead the Motocaddy Masters by one stroke on six under ahead of the final round of the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour event at The Carrick on Loch Lomond.

Irishman Mark Murphy occupies second on the leaderboard thanks to a four-under-par 67, which propelled his tournament score to five under. Neil Fenwick (Dunbar Golf Club) is the leading Scot, his second-round 68 pushing him to third on three under.

Chaudhuri (www.specialisteyes.co.uk) began his round on the tenth tee with Murphy already in the clubhouse on five under. An eagle at 11 saw the Leicester man back to a tie at the top, but he dropped back with bogeys at 14 and 16. However his back nine, the usual front nine, saw him card four birdies with a bogey at six the only blot as he came home in 33.

“I certainly don’t feel I have mastered the course,” said the leader. “You can’t relax at any point because it is one tough shot after another.

“I will take tomorrow much the same as I have the last two days, I have been pretty good at taking it one shot at a time and not really focussing on the leaderboards and what other players are doing. I will focus on my own game, which will be easier said than done, but it is what I will try and do.

“It is beautiful here, the back nine is just stunning. It is a very difficult course so you can’t really admire the views but whenever I had to wait I relaxed and looked out on the Loch, it is a great view.”

Murphy shot five birdies and one bogey on his way to 67, and Fenwick will be rueing a triple bogey at 17. Having started on the first he looked set for a share of the lead on five under until he made seven at 17, though a birdie at the last saw him secure third place ahead of the last 18.

James Maw is fourth on two under, four behind Chaudhuri, with Max Williams and Sebastian Garcia Grout sharing fifth on one under.

The Motocaddy Masters concludes on Friday at The Carrick on Loch Lomond, with the final round to be filmed for a two-hour highlights package to be broadcast on Sky Sports on Tuesday, July 22. Spectator entry is free throughout the event and live scoring can be found at www.europrotour.com.

Neil Chaudhuri leads the Motocaddy Masters at The Carrick on Loch Lomond after shooting a first-round 68 for three under par in the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour event.

James Frazer and Sebastian Garcia Grout share second on two under, just one off the lead, with three players tied for third on one under.

The course provided a stern test on the opening day but leader Chaudhuri (www.specialisteyes.co.uk) responded instantly to a bogey at the first by birdieing the second. He went out in 33 after breaking par again at five, six and nine but dropped down the leaderboard when he double-bogeyed the par-four tenth.

The Leicester golfer, who represented England as an amateur, responded well again with a birdie at 11 and he returned to the lead with a birdie at 16 before closing out his round with two pars to sign for a 68.

Spaniard Garcia Grout (Golf de Poniente Mallorca) double bogeyed the third but birdies at five and seven saw him return to level par. A bogey at the ninth took his card back over par but he was one under after an eagle three at the 11th. Seven pars and a birdie at 15 saw him complete his opening round in 69 for a share of second on two under.

Welshman Frazer (Pennard Golf Club) is also just one behind leader Chaudhuri. He began his round at the tenth and made ten consecutive pars before a run of three birdies from the second took him to three under. A bogey at five followed but he was soon back to three under when he took two on the par-three sixth. However, a bogey on the eighth prevented him from sharing the lead after the first 18.

Greg McBain (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) is the leading Scot after the first round. The Aberdeen man shares fourth with Ireland’s Mark Murphy and Andrew Cheese (Sutton Coldfield Golf Club), who all carded 70 for one under on the opening day.

The Motocaddy Masters is a 54-hole strokeplay event, with a cut to the leading 50 players plus ties to be made after Thursday’s second round. The final round will be filmed for a two-hour highlights show to be aired on Sky Sports on Tuesday, July 22 and spectator entry is free throughout.

We are pleased to announce the launch of a series of brand new promotional videos highlighting the key features of all five electric trolleys in our 2014 range, as well as the benefits offered by the increasingly-popular lithium batteries.

Presented by trick-shot specialist Jeremy Dale at DeVere Heythrop Park in Oxford, the 3-5 minute videos feature the S1, S1 PRO, S3 PRO, M1 PRO and M3 PRO models along with a ‘Time To Go Lithium’ version – all of which are now available on product pages of our website, plus the brand new 'Video Vault' section.

We also have existing animated videos produced last year, demonstrating the folding and unfolding sequences of the M1 PRO, our most successful trolley launch of all time.

“The new videos are an important step forward in presenting our latest range to both consumers and retailers,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher. “It’s the strongest range we’ve ever produced and feedback from golfers on our new models has been very positive, but we’re always looking for ways to make our range clearer for customers and the videos are designed to do precisely that."

After presenting the videos, Dale, who has been a PGA Professional for 25 years, said: “Having put the trolleys through their paces during the filming, I can see how each one meets the different needs of golfers and just how good the new models are.”

William Harrold won the opening event of the PGA EuroPro Tour season, shooting a final-round 71 to finish four under par in the Matchroom Championship on the Brabazon Course at The Belfry.

The Norfolk golfer began the day four behind 36-hole leader Jack Senior (Heysham Golf Club), but the former Walker Cup man shot 76 in his final round to fall from -7 overnight to -3 at the close of play, earning him second place.

Harrold (Sheringham Golf Club) collects a winner’s cheque of £10,000 plus a brand new Motocaddy S1 PRO trolley. It is his first win on the PGA EuroPro Tour, having missed out in a play-off at The Oxfordshire last season.

“It feels great,” said Harrold. “I was ready for another play-off but I am happy to not have had to have that again. My dad was on the bag this week. He’s a good caddy and we have a good record together. He was on the bag at The Oxfordshire last year too."

Harrold completed his front nine in 36 shots after cancelling out his sixth-hole bogey with a birdie at the ninth. Coming in he bogeyed the 11th but birdied 13 and then the 17th to move to four under.

Second-place Senior double-bogeyed the first, cutting his overnight lead to one stroke. Bogeys at three, six and 13 saw him away from contention but a late flurry of three consecutive birdies at 15, 16 and 17 saw him draw level with leader Harrold, who was playing in the group ahead.

However, the Lancastrian found a bunker on 18 and double bogeyed the hole to miss out on a play-off. Gary King (Tyrrells Wood) and Paul Broadhurst shared third on two under.

Highlights of the event will be broadcast eight times on Sky Sports, premiering at 8pm on Tuesday, April 29. The next PGA EuroPro Tour event is the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters at Montrose, beginning on April 29.

Motocaddy has been announced as the ‘Official Electric Trolley’ of the PGA EuroPro Tour for a ninth consecutive year ahead of the circuit’s opening event at The Belfry next week (15-17 April).

Motocaddy – which recently launched its most advanced trolley in the form of the compact-folding and featured-packed M3 PRO – will provide support at all 17 events on this year’s PGA EuroPro Tour schedule, which includes tournaments on The Belfry’s four-time Ryder Cup Brabazon course, as well as other prestigious venues such as Burhill, The Carrick Loch Lomond, Prince’s, Moor Allerton and Slaley Hall.

Screened on Sky Sports, the 2014 PGA EuroPro Tour will reward each event winner with a £10,000 first-placed prize, plus a new S1 PRO trolley for them to use.

“We’re delighted to extend our relationship with Motocaddy into a ninth season and look forward to another successful year with its expert backing,” said PGA EuroPro Tour MD Eddie Hearn. “A lot of our players use a Motocaddy trolley when competing because they value the reliability and quality of features on offer.”

The top-five finishing players on the final PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit earn a Challenge Tour card – a route to stardom that was taken by Major winners Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen.

“The pedigree of the EuroPro Tour is there for everyone to see and the quality of golf on display gets stronger every year,” said Motocaddy Chairman David Wells. “We’re excited to renew our agreement with the Tour and look forward to working with their talented players, who continue to provide us with feedback that helps shape our product development.”

Following the successful launch of the award-winning M1 PRO last year, we are proud to announce the introduction of a brand new flagship electric trolley that not only boasts the same compact-folding design, but also offers high-tech performance features.

The M3 PRO borrows the same two-bar frame as the continuing M1 PRO – allowing it to fold down over 40% smaller than traditional trolleys – but it also provides golfers with a host of award-winning features previously seen on the popular S3 PRO model. These include a five-minute ‘lost ball’ timer, ‘round’ timer, clock and battery meter, plus a full-colour digital screen with multiple distance readings.

“The design of the M3 PRO has been driven by feedback from a significant number of golfers who said they loved our compact-folding technology, but would like to see additional performance features on the trolley too,” said Chairman David Wells. “The new M3 PRO represents our most advanced trolley to date and is the product of over 12 months of research and development.

“It’s the perfect option for golfers who transport their trolley to the course in the boot of their car and who love to have handy features to use when playing,” added Wells.

The M3 PRO’s digital screen also incorporates our exclusive CartLock security device that allows the owner to set a pin code to render the trolley useless to a would-be thief. Like the M1 PRO, the new model features an integrated Accessory Station, a simple handle height adjustment and an inbuilt device cradle designed to hold GPS devices that can also be powered from a patented USB charging port.

In addition to the USB charging port, the M3 PRO also offers Adjustable Distance Control (ADC) – a system that allows the user to set the trolley to travel independently up to 60 yards. There are fully-adjustable bag supports – to accommodate a variety of bag sizes – and the ergonomic handle caters for both right and left-handed use.

Golfers have nine easy-to-use speed settings to choose from when operating the trolley, which is powered by a whisper-quiet 230w motor.

As with every new Motocaddy trolley for 2014, the M3 PRO features our exclusive EASILOCK™ technology, a connection system that removes the need for a lower bag strap thanks to two holes on the trolley’s bag support that are aligned with two removable locking pins on the base of all new Motocaddy cart bags. The M3 PRO is also supplied with easily detachable straps to allow them to be used with non-EASILOCK™ bags.

The M3 PRO trolley is available now in both Black or Alpine matte finishes.

Innovative EASILOCK bag connection system introduced

Following extensive research and development, we are delighted to announce the introduction of our EASILOCK™ technology - the easiest bag and trolley connection system on the market.

In a ground-breaking first, the exclusive EASILOCK™ system – featured across all new Motocaddy trolleys and bags this year – is designed to lock the cart bag onto the trolley and remove the need for a lower bag strap. Two holes on the trolley’s bag support are aligned with two pins on the base of all new Motocaddy cart bags; ensuring golfers can lock their bag onto the trolley before using the upper bag strap to secure it completely.

The two pins on the base of each new trolley bag are removable, so golfers have the option of taking them off to fit an older Motocaddy trolley or other branded models on the market. The trolleys are also supplied with easily detachable straps to allow them to be used with non-EASILOCK™ bags.

“The EASILOCK™ technology meets the needs of modern-day golfers, who we know through research are looking for quicker ways of getting their trolley and bag onto the golf course,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher. “We’re all familiar with that feeling of having to bend down to secure a lower bag strap, but this new technology removes that problem and we’re proud to be the first brand to offer this feature.”

The EASILOCK™ range is available online or from your nearest Motocaddy stockist.

Super-fast QUIKFOLD assembly mechanism launched

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a super-fast folding mechanism on this season's S1 PRO and S3 PRO trolleys that allows golfers to fold or unfold their trolley within seconds.

The new S1 PRO and S3 PRO trolleys have been in development for over a year and boast one of the simplest folding systems on the market, thanks to a clever sliding catch that activates the mechanism and then locks the trolley once folded up or down. It can take just five seconds to fold or unfold the trolley.

“The inspiration for the QUIKFOLD mechanism came from research that showed golfers are looking for a folding system that is both quicker and easier to use,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher. “Customers are now getting extra value for money – in addition to the existing features they can now also take advantage of a super-fast folding design.”

The new QUIKFOLD models are available now in both Black or Alpine matte finishes.

Next generation compact push trolley hits the market

This season sees the launch of our next generation push trolley in the form of the compact-folding M1 Lite, a model that incorporates a number of innovative features, including some more commonly seen on our feature-packed powered trolleys.

The M1 Lite weighs only 6 kg and includes a newly-styled ergonomic handle, developed to make the trolley comfortable to hold and easy to push. It also boasts several handy features, including an integrated Accessory Station – for attaching up to four accessories to the handle – a convenient food and beverage pouch and an easy-to-use, foot-operated parking brake.

We have invested more than 18 months of R&D into the M1 Lite, which is based on the twin-tube frame concept of the award-winning M1 PRO electric trolley. It has a similar triple-fold mechanism that allows it to reduce down over 50% smaller than existing Motocaddy push trolleys and fit snugly into even the smallest of car boots.

“Customer feedback indicates that compactness is one of the most important factors for golfers when purchasing manual trolleys, so we’ve tailored our product development accordingly,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher.

“Although we’re seeing a big increase in the number of golfers purchasing electric models, more than 30% of trolley owners still use a manual version, so it’s important we provide push options to suit their needs.”

The M1 Lite push trolley is available now in both Black or Alpine matte finishes.

Top-rated S1 PRO wins Today's Golfer trolley test

We are pleased to announce that the Motocaddy S1 PRO electric trolley has been awarded top marks in the recent Today's Golfer long-term trolley test.

Featured in issue 315, the widely read magazine tested 18 electric and manual models to help aid their reader's buying decisions. The TG equipment team and a handful of readers tested each trolley over at least eight rounds and marked the models on folded size, performance (including assembly) and functions. We supplied three models - the S1 Lite Push Cart, S1 PRO and M1 PRO - and both electric trolleys were supplied with 36-hole lithium batteries.

The M1 PRO was used for over 25 rounds and received 4.5/5.0 including full marks for Looks, Ease of use, Performance and Reliability. According to Equipment Editor, Joel Tadman:

"It's well made, sturdy, reliable and folds away into a compact size - plus it looks great."

The conclusion was that the M1 PRO was 'one of the smallest when folded' in addition to being 'simple to use, looks great and is a breeze to control'.

The S1 PRO was used for over 30 rounds and received top marks for Looks, Ease of Assembly, Ease of use, Performance and Reliability. It also received 4.5/5.0 for Functions and 4.0/5.0 for Value with the panel describing it as a 'great looking' trolley which 'folds and locks easily and quickly'. The conclusion was that:

"The S1 PRO has the perfect balance of essentials and features with no gimmicks. This trolley was allocated at random to Howard, but he said that it would be the one he’d spend his cash on. The way it simply folds down and clicks down into place, with the battery still housed inside, makes it one of the simplest to load. Reliable and good value, too."

The S1 Lite also received the SILVER AWARD in the manual trolley category with an impressive 4.5/5.0 thanks to its simplicity and outstanding value for money.

Oliver Farr wins PGA Europro Tour Order of Merit

<img src="http://www.motocaddy.ie/media/wysiwyg/blog-images/131104_ept-princes.jpg" alt="Europro Tour Championship" width="520px' height="312px" />

Oliver Farr won the PGA EuroPro Tour Championship, and with it the 2013 season Order of Merit, after finishing 13 under par for his 54 holes at Prince’s Golf Club.

Daniel Gavins was one behind in second place, which also confirmed his position as runner-up on the tour rankings. Paul Reed and James Watts finished the tournament tied for third on ten under par.

The top five on the Order of Merit are awarded Challenge Tour cards for 2014. George Woolgar, who was guaranteed a top-five finish before Tour Championship, came third with Dave Coupland and Paul McKechnie also progressing to Europe’s second-tier Tour.

Farr (Worcester Golf & Country Club) shot a final-round 67, five under, to beat overnight leader Gavins (De Vere Oulton Hall) by one and in doing so also claimed the Order of Merit title.

“The last two days I have really controlled the ball well and put some great scores in,” said Farr. “It was nice to do that under a lot of pressure. I wasn’t quite sure of my Challenge Tour card for next year but it is brilliant to get it.

“The Challenge Tour card only really occurred to me on the 18th. I was focussing on the last round. I came here this week to just play this tournament as it is and I did that. It only really came into my mind on the 18th tee, then I thought I could win the Order of Merit.

“Playing on the Challenge Tour is something to really, really look forward to. I have played some Challenge Tour events this year and I feel comfortable on there. There is a little step up but I will prepare myself and get some good practice in over the winter to get ready for next year.”

The Welshman led for much of the back nine after shooting five birdies on the first 11 holes. A birdie for Gavins on the last left Farr with a short but nervy putt for victory, which he calmly made to collect a winner’s cheque of £15,000 and a brand new Motocaddy S3 PRO.

Richard Wallis finished sixth on the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, missing out on the top five by just £69.17. However, if any of the top five earn a Challenge or European Tour card via the European Tour Qualifying School, he will receive their satellite tour graduate category.

Marcus Armitage collected the Rookie Of The Year trophy after finishing ninth on the Order of Merit.

The Tour Championships concludes the 2013 PGA EuroPro Tour season. Details of the 2014 Qualifying School will be available at www.europrotour.com in December.

New Motocaddy model wins Foremost Innovation Award

The compact-folding Motocaddy M1 PRO trolley was crowned golf’s ‘Most Innovative Product’ at the 2013 Foremost Golf Awards ceremony held at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on Wednesday night (Wednesday 9 October).

Foremost Golf group members – many of whom were present at the ceremony and attending the annual Golf Show – placed the M1 PRO ahead of several other successful golf products launched this year, including TaylorMade’s SLDR driver and Nike’s Covert woods.

“Winning the product innovation award from Foremost Group members in the face of such outstanding competition is a great honour for Motocaddy,” said Chairman David Wells. “The M1 PRO has been our most successful trolley launch with sales more than 30% above forecast, but this confirms that our retail partners are right behind the product and we’d like to thank them for their continued support.”

The M1 PRO trolley has transformed the way golfers travel to and from the course, thanks to an innovative design that allows it to be folded 40% smaller than previous Motocaddy models. It has also retained the brand’s trademark performance benefits, including the patented USB port to charge GPS devices.

Motocaddy’s S1 PRO trolley was also recognised at the ceremony – hosted by BBC presenter Andrew Cotter – for its exceptional performance in 2013, picking up the Foremost Golf ‘Trolley Model of the Year’ prize.

Hemstock wins Clipper Logistics Championship

Billy Hemstock won the Clipper Logistics Championship at Moor Allerton Golf Club on Friday, beating Daniel Gavins in a play-off to win the PGA EuroPro Tour event.

The pair finished tied on 12 under par after 54 holes but it was agony for Gavins (De Vere Oulton Hall) who shot a course-record equalling 64 (-7) on the final day, only to lose by play-off for the second event running.

However, the Yorkshire man has guaranteed himself a 2014 Challenge Tour card, with a victory at Dale Hill coupled with his two second-placed finishes ensuring Gavins a place in the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit top five.

When the pair finished tied for the lead on -12, they replayed the 18th as a sudden-death play-off. However, Gavins’ tee shot strayed into the trees lining the right-hand side of the green and though he recovered for par, Hemstock (Teignmouth GC) got to the green in two and made four on the par-five closing hole to win the £10,000 winner’s cheque and a brand new Motocaddy trolley.

Hemstock shot an unblemished 66 in the final round but has been struggling for form in recent weeks. He failed to make it beyond the first stage of European Tour Q School and had missed the cut at his previous two EuroPro Tour events.

“It has been a tough few weeks,” he admitted. “I have been struggling with my form but I came here with no expectations and it has been a fantastic week.

“I played a lot, 13 out of 15 weeks, and travelling all over the place. I got a little bit stale towards the end and that makes you take a look at what you’re doing and reset the dial a little for the end of the season and I did that well.

“I felt I was doing a lot of things well, but I just wasn’t getting the results. I stayed patient and you have to check through what you’re doing and make sure it is the right things. Backing myself in those situations really helped this week.”

Marcus Armitage (Howley Hall GC) and 36-hole leader Ryan O’Neill (Penwortham Golf Club) tied for third with scores of nine under, with Ruaidhri McGee (Rosapenna), Greg Payne (Chobham Golf Club) and Order of Merit leader George Woolgar (Capitalservices) sharing fifth on seven under par.

Only the top 60 on the current Order of Merit have been invited to play the 888poker.com Tour Championships at Prince’s next month. Janne Kaske, who finishes the season 61st, misses out by just £57.25.

Highlights of the Clipper Logistics Championship will be broadcast at 8pm on Sky Sports 3 on Tuesday, October 8, repeated four times on Wednesday, October 9.

Farr wins Eagle Orchard Scottish Masters on PGA Europro Tour

Oliver Farr won the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters, beating Daniel Gavins on the third play-off hole in the PGA EuroPro Tour event at Montrose Golf Links.

Farr claimed the £10,000 winner’s prize and a brand new Motocaddy trolley, despite finishing his final round with a bogey on the 16th and a double on the 17th, squandering a three-stroke lead to find himself in the playoff.

He signed for final round 71, level par, to finish the tournament five under. Gavins shot a 68 (-3) on the final day to tie for the lead and earn his place in the sudden death play-off.

Both players parred the first two plays of 18 but Gavins hit his approach shot onto the road behind the 18th green on the 57th hole, and had taken five strokes when Farr putted for par to win the competition.

The 25 year old moves to third on the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, and Gavins’ £5,000 runners-up prize takes him to second after winning at Dale Hill last month. It means that with two events to play both players are strongly-placed to finish the season in the top five, an achievement rewarded with a 2014 Challenge Tour Card.

“It was very much a rollercoaster,” said Farr. “I got to eight under and felt pretty comfortable but it was quite a tough finish with the wind coming into us and I hit a couple of bad shots.

“Coming down 18 you have to look at it in the way you don’t want to and that is that you could lose it. I focussed on making par and getting in the play off, because I knew I wasn’t in a great frame of mind going into the last hole. I recovered well and had a good two-putt.

Earlier in the season Farr finished tied second at Rowallan Castle, losing out to Mark Laskey in a play-off.

“It was good that I was in a play-off at Rowallan Castle,” said Farr. “It meant that I was familiar with it. You have to play some good shots on 18 here and the pin was in a really tight place, so I was happy to make three pars really.

“I have been fortunate to play seven Challenge Tour events this year and you get a taste for it, you know what level you need to be at. You have to win on the EuroPro to have a chance of getting your card and it was nice to win today and hopefully now I can get to the Challenge Tour for next year, but we have a couple of events left yet.”

James Robinson (Southport & Ainsdale) and James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City Golf Club) shared third place on four under par.

The next event takes place at Moor Allerton Golf Club in Leeds, beginning on Wednesday, September 25. The final round of the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters was filmed for a two-hour highlights show to be broadcast four times on Sky Sports HD on September 25.

Motocaddy S1 wins Golf Monthly Ultimate Trolley Test

We are delighted to announce that the S1 has been chosen as 'Best on Test' in the 'Ultimate Trolley Test' featured in the latest issue of Golf Monthly.

The comprehensive test involved putting 12 leading electric and manual trolleys through their paces at the recently opened Centurion Club near St Albans, an ideal course chosen to simulate both undulating modern golf holes and flatter, more traditional tree-lined ones. The trolleys were marked on Ergonomics/Manoeuvrability, Functionality, Desirability/Styling, Value, Build quality, Bag fit, Ease of folding & Folded size. We supplied three models for testing - the S1, M1 PRO and S1 Lite Push Cart - with all trolleys being given a thorough critique and review.

The S1 was the runaway winner, finishing 5 points above second place thanks to top marks in Ergonomics/Manoeuvrability (47/50), Value (27/30), Build Quality (18/20), Ease of folding (9/10) and both Bag fit/Folded size also receiving an impressive 8/10 each. The panel struggled to find any negatives and the simplicity, quietness and manoeuvrability were also highlighted as notable positives. According to the test summary:

"The Motocaddy S1 stands out from the crowd as a fantastic performer. Stylish looks are combined with impressive build quality, ease of use and all at a very competitive price whether you opt for the Lithium or lead-acid offering".

The M1 PRO finished a mere 2 marks off a podium finish, with testers finding that the trolley "folds down smaller than any other electric trolley I have tried". The compact folding model, launched earlier this year, was marked highly for Ergonomics/Manoeuvrability (45/50), Build quality (18/20) and Size when folded (9/10). Editor Mike Harris concluded that the M1 PRO:

"Is the perfect option for anyone who wants an electric trolley, but who struggles for boot space. It features the trademark Motocaddy build quality".

The main negative that kept the M1 PRO from a higher finish was that the folding process takes time to perfect - coincidently we are pleased to announce a brand new tutorial video launched to show just how easy it is once you get the hang of it!

Finally, the S1 Lite was awarded impressive marks for Value (28/30), Build quality (18/20), Bag fit (9/10) plus both Folded size and Ease of folding (8/10). The verdict was that the S1 Lite was:

"Exceptional value for money in this category and comes with the reliability and reassurance that you can normally expect from Motocaddy".

Woolgar wins again to top PGA Europro Tour order of merit

George Woolgar won a play-off at the end of a remarkable WPT Championship at The Oxfordshire to become the first PGA EuroPro Tour player to win two events this season.

The Chesterfield golfer looked to be cruising after extending his overnight lead to four shots but a bogey on 16, a double at 17 and a bogey on the 18th – achieved with a superb up and down – saw him conclude the tournament at 11 under, joining William Harrold (Sheringham Golf Club) in a play-off.

Harrold had shot a final-round 72, level par, to remain at 11 under, while Woolgar shot a 73 to add to two rounds of 66.

The play-off took two plays of the 18th to complete, and Woolgar won with a par on the second play after Harrold bogeyed despite coming close with his birdie putt.

Woolgar claimed his second £10,000 winner’s cheque of the season, and a brand new Motocaddy trolley. He tops the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit and is now almost certain to earn a Challenge Tour card, the reward for finishing in the top five at the end of the season.

“I was flying, a few under after the first nine and birdied one of the holes going in as well to go to 16 under for the tournament,” he said. “I don’t quite know what happened on the last few but you have to stay patient and I tried to do that and ended up coming out on top.

“On the last I thought I had to chip in to make par, it was a tricky shot but I had a chance. I have been putting well all week and that was the difference.

“I’m top of the Order of Merit now but it isn’t over until the fat lady sings as they say, anything can happen in the last few events. I just want to keep making cuts, get some more money on the board and then see what happens.”

Greg Payne (Chobham Golf Club), Max Smith (Donnington Grove Country Club), Tim Dykes (Penrith Golf Club) tied for third on ten under.

Highlights of the WPT Championship will be shown four times on Wednesday, September 11. The next PGA EuroPro Tour event is the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters at Montrose Golf Links, beginning Tuesday, September 25.

Gavins wins Hotelplanner.com Championship on PGA Europro Tour

Daniel Gavins moved into the top five of the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit with his maiden victory on the tour, shooting a superb final-round 63 to win the HotelPlanner.com Championship by three strokes at Dale Hill Golf Club in East Sussex.

The 22-year-old, based at De Vere Oulton Hall in Yorkshire, was seven under for his final round and finished the week 12 under par. Dave Coupland came second on nine under to move to the top of the Order of Merit, with Oliver Farr third, four off the lead. Gavins wins £10,000, a brand new Motocaddy trolley and £500 to spend at HotelPlanner.com.

He had finished in the top ten three times previously this season, with his win pushing him to third on the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit.

“I went out today trying to keep in my process with every shot,” he said. “My back nine was terrific, to hole those putts as I did was amazing.

“To be honest I don’t remember much of that back nine but when I finished I was told I shot 29 for the back nine and I didn’t realise that at all. I stuck to my game and tried to keep it going. Fairways and greens was my aim for the last few holes.

“I have had a few top tens this year and I have been playing solidly so it is really nice to get the first win on the board. Mentally it was tough, especially on the back nine, but I tried to stay in the zone and stay calm.

“This win is very important, it has got me up to the top five on the Order of Merit so if I can keep going and have a few good finishes I should do well this year.”

Gavins’ impressive final round included an eagle on the 11th and six birdies, with his only blemish a five on the sixth.

Second-placed Coupland (Sharp Sports Golf Management), who won at Mar Hall two weeks ago, now leads the Order of Merit. His final-round 65 comprised five birdies and 13 pars. Farr (Worcester Golf & Country Club) shot 66, four under, in his final round to end the week eight under.

Highlights of the HotelPlanner.com Championship will be broadcast on Sky Sports HD during the week commencing September 2.

Woolgar wins PGA Europro Tour Sweetspot Classic

George Woolgar won the Sweetspot Classic with a 54-hole score of seven under par at Longhirst Hall, his second PGA EuroPro Tour victory and his first of the season.

The Chesterfield golfer shot a final-round 68, two under, to win by one from three golfers who tied for second. They were Colm Moriarty, who bogeyed the par-five 18th to sign for a 72, Zack Saltman, who set the course record with a 63 in the first round, and 2012 PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit winner Paul Maddy, who shot a superb final-round 64 to move from level par to six under for the week.

Woolgar was victorious at Frilford Heath last year but had been dogged by injury since, only returning to action in May.

“It was a long nine months after winning at Frilford last summer,” he said. “It was a bit of a rollercoaster but that is in the past now and I have come back, been consistent and now I want to kick on from here and let’s see what happens.

“I didn’t see a leaderboard after the 15th so I didn’t know my position, but I knew I needed to press on and try and get some birdies on the last couple of holes. That didn’t quite happen but the pars were a good score in the end and I won and got the job done.”

Woolgar was consistent all week, with rounds of 67, 68 and 68 taking him to seven under and first place, earning himself a £10,000 winner’s cheque and a brand new Motocaddy trolley.

With only two cuts missed all season, and a tied second at Collingtree Park in June, Woolgar now leads the Order of Merit.

Back-to-back bogeys on 17 and 18 cost Irishman Moriarty, who led by one ahead of the final round. Zack Saltman shot a final-round 70 to join Moriarty and Maddy in a tie for second.

A two-hour highlights package of the Sweetspot Classic will air on Sky Sports HD on Tuesday, August 27, repeated three times on Wednesday, August 28.

The next PGA EuroPro Tour event is the HotelPlanner.com Championship at Dale Hill in East Sussex, beginning on Wednesday, August 21 and concluding Friday, August 23.

Mar Hall play-off joy for Coupland on PGA Europro Tour

Dave Coupland beat Sebastian Garcia Grout in a play-off to win the MarHall.com Scottish Classic on Friday, his maiden victory on the PGA EuroPro Tour.

Both finished the week 11 under par to force the play-off on the 18th. When Garcia made bogey Coupland had a short putt for par, and he sunk it to claim the £10,000 winner’s cheque and a brand new Motocaddy Trolley.

Coupland (Sharp Sports Golf Management) had shot rounds of 69 and 64 on the par-70 Earl of Mar Golf Course prior to Friday’s final round and finished with a four-under 66 to earn his place in the play-off.

He began confidently with birdies on the first and third and followed a bogey at four with eight consecutive pars. It was then that he made his move up the leaderboard, with three straight birdies on the 13th, 14th and 15th to take his round four under the card and his tournament score to 11 under.

“It’s unbelievable, I am speechless,” said Coupland on collecting his £10,000 prize. “I was level headed, tried to keep calm and was trying to remind myself I have done it before.

“I kept telling myself to stay calm and play my own game, and try and avoid worrying about the outcome. I hit the ball solidly this week.

“At the start of the week I tweaked something in my setup and I struck the ball a lot better so it was down to my setup really. I will celebrate with friends and family.”

The win sees Coupland creep into the top five on the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, earning himself an invite to the Northern Ireland Challenge on the Challenge Tour.

Garcia (Golf de Poniente Mallorca) opened with a 65 on Wednesday, had a 67 on Thursday and matched his second-round score on Friday to conclude 11 under. He had led the tournament at one point after four front-nine birdies, including three consecutively from the first. However, he dropped back with bogeys on the 10th and 11th, with a birdie at 15 earning him a place in the play-off.

Coupland and Garcia would have been joined on the extra hole by James Maw (Abbeydale Golf Club) had he not bogeyed the last to end ten under, one over for the day.

Maw finished tied third on ten under alongside Shaun McAllister (Craigielaw Golf Club), who was left to rue a two-stroke penalty on the seventh. The Scottish golfer removed a leaf from a bunker before playing his shot, turning a birdie into a bogey once the penalty had been added.

Graham Cox (Davenport GC) finished fifth on eight under after a final-round 69, one under par.

A two-hour highlights package will air on Sky Sports HD on Tuesday, August 20, repeated four times the following day. The next event on the PGA EuroPro Tour is the Sweetspot Classic at Longhirst Hall Golf Club, beginning next Wednesday August 14 and concluding on Friday, August 16.

Mark Laskey wins Rowallan Castle Open following play-off

Mark Laskey beat Tim Rice and Oliver Farr in a play-off to win the Rowallan Castle Open on the PGA EuroPro Tour, after all three finished the tournament six under par.

After no play was possible on day two, the tournament was reduced to 36 holes with only the top 50 plus ties playing the final round.

Laskey (Brocket Hall) started the day two ahead on eight under and at one point had a four-stroke lead on ten under. However, bogeys at nine and ten were followed by a triple at the 11th and Rice (Limerick), who to that point had played his final round to par, then lead on six under and extended his advantage with a birdie at 12.

Farr (Worcester Golf & Country Club) quickly reduced Rice’s lead to one with consecutive birdies from 13 to 15. Laskey ensured the pressure remained on Irishman Rice with a birdie at 15, and though both bogeyed the 16th a birdie on 17 saw Laskey reclaim a share of the lead, with Farr now in the clubhouse on six under.

With the trio all tied for the lead they headed to the 18th tee for the play off, which took three plays of the same hole to complete. Farr dropped out when he bogeyed the second play-off hole and when Rice did the same on the following play, Laskey was crowned Rowallan Castle Open champion 2013. He wins £10,000, a brand new Motocaddy trolley and now leads the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit.

“It is great to get my first PGA EuroPro Tour win,” he said. “It has been a long time coming so it is a bit of a hurdle I have finally jumped.

“When I lead by four I wasn’t thinking too far ahead but I was playing nicely and I was trying to push on and make birdies. I made a couple of sloppy mistakes but managed to keep my head together.

“It was definitely a lot harder today. Left to right winds are something I need to work on and that is where I messed up.

“I knew I was playing well enough and putting well. There are some tough holes to finish but I kept fighting and got into the play off. I haven’t been putting well this year so it was nice to putt well when I needed to.”

A two-hour highlights package of the event will be broadcast on Sky Sports HD at 8pm on Tuesday, August 13, repeated on Wednesday, August 14. The next PGA EuroPro Tour event is the MarHall.com Scottish Classic, which takes place at Mar Hall Golf Club August 7-9.

Armitage wins Kingspan Concra Wood Open on PGA Europro Tour

Marcus Armitage recorded his first PGA EuroPro Tour victory when he shot a final-round 68 to win the Kingspan Concra Wood Open by two strokes from Paul Doherty.

Armitage finished the event eight under par after his four-under last 18 at the par-72 Concra Wood Golf Club in Castleblayney, Ireland.

The Yorkshireman began the final round one behind Scotland’s Doherty but began in some style with an eagle on the par-five first, climbing to six under alongside his playing partner Doherty, who opened with a birdie four.

Birdies on the third and fourth afforded Armitage a two-stroke advantage, but Doherty hit back-to-back par breakers at seven and eight to leave the pair tied at eight under.

Armitage dropped back one when he bogeyed the tenth but Doherty joined him three holes later when he took six at the par-five 13th.

On the 14th Armitage returned to eight under and as heavy rain began to engulf the course at Concra Wood, Doherty dropped to six under with a bogey on the 17th. His English rival held his nerve to par the last and collect the £10,000 winner’s cheque and a brand new Motocaddy trolley.

“I have only played twice on this tour before and I missed the cut both times,” said Armitage on collecting his trophy. “This is my first event of the year since Qualifying School and it is great to win, I didn’t think it would feel as good as it does to win it. Concra Wood is a great test.

“The rain got heavy on the last three holes and I just had to focus and play the shots I needed too.”

Doherty takes home £5,000 after finishing six under par for the tournament, while his compatriot Elliot Saltman shot a six-under-par final round 66 to fire himself from one over par at the start of the day to five under and third place by the end.

Richard Edginton shot a four-under final round to finish fourth. The Wimbledon golfer had to putt the last 11 holes with his driver after a mishap left his putter bent.

A two-hour highlights package of the Kingspan Concra Wood Open will be broadcast on Sky Sports HD at 7pm on Tuesday, August 6, repeated on Wednesday, August 7. The next PGA EuroPro Tour event takes place at Rowallan Castle, Ayrshire and begins on Wednesday, July 31.

McKechnie wins sixth event of PGA EuroPro Tour season

Paul McKechnie won the inaugural Grant Property Investment Championship at Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth on Friday, beating three golfers by one stroke in the sixth event of the PGA EuroPro Tour season.

Scotsman McKechnie, the first ever winner of the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit in 2002, turned back the clock with a final round 70, one under par, to finish eight under. Richard Prophet, Will Roebuck and McKechnie's playing partner Daniel Wardrop finished one behind on seven under.

The 36-year-old from Braid Hills Golf Club opened his final round with a birdie to pull one ahead of joint overnight leader Wardrop (Didsbury Golf Club), though the Manchester man drew level when he took four on the par-five second.

McKechnie completed the remainder of the front nine to par, but a dropped shot at 13 saw him fall level with Wardrop, who was having a mixed round which to that point had included three birdies and as many bogeys.

A birdie at 14 saw Wardrop lead on eight under but when he bogeyed 16 and McKechnie birdied the same hole, the lead swapped and McKechnie saw himself home with two pars.

He wins £10,000, a brand new Motcaddy trolley and sponsors Grant Property Investment presented him a set of bagpipes, while host club Moray gave the top three a bottle of their club whiskey.

"It was great that the EuroPro has been able to come up here to this fantastic golf course," said winner McKechnie. "The locals have been great and we had a huge amount of support with people coming out to watch, which was fantastic."

A two-hour highlights package of the Grant Property Investment Championship will air four times on Sky Sports HD on Wednesday, July 24. The next PGA EuroPro Tour event is the Kingspan Concra Wood Open, July 24-26 at Concra Wood Golf Club in Castleblayney, Ireland.

Bateman wins first PGA Europro Tour title at Buildbase Open

Harry Bateman claimed his first professional victory when he won the PGA EuroPro Tour’s Buildbase Open on Sunday.

The New Zealander carded a final round 69, three under par, to win by one stroke from Scott Campbell and claim the £10,000 winner’s prize and a brand new Motocaddy trolley at Frilford Heath Golf Club in Oxfordshire.

Bateman (Royal Wellington Golf Club) had begun the day two strokes behind overnight leader Tom Wilde, an amateur who finished the week six under par as one of six players tied 18th following a final round 77.

This is the 22 year old’s debut season on the PGA EuroPro Tour but he had missed each of the previous four cuts on tour, despite doing well in Qualifying School at Frilford Heath in April.

“I was surprisingly calm,” said Bateman of his final round. “I thought I would be a lot more nervous but I felt the same the whole day from start to finish. It isn’t a bad way to finish when I make my first cut!

“I found something just before the tournament with my swing, it was really consistent and I stuck with it all week and putted so well. The greens here were amazing, probably the best I have seen since I have come over to the UK, and I holed everything.

“It is a good base to build from quite early in the season. A few more good results and you can get onto the Challenge Tour, so this is pretty big for me.”

Runner-up Campbell (Hallowes) birdied the last two holes to sign for a final-round 69 but earlier bogeys at three and 16 restricted him to 11 under for the week.

Richard Wallis (Walmer & KingsdownGolf Club), who won the Kerry London Championship at Burhill Golf Club earlier in the season, finished tied third on nine under after shooting 67, five under, on the final day.

Paul Shields (Kirkhill Golf Club), George Cowan (Westerhope Golf Club), Greg Payne (Chobham Golf Club) and Jack Harrison (Wildwood Golf Club) also finished nine under after 54 holes.

A two-hour highlights package from the Buildbase Open will be broadcast on Sky Sports HD four times on Wednesday, July 10.

Belt claims maiden PGA Europro Tour victory

Alex Belt shot a final-round 70 to win the PDC & World Snooker Open by one stroke and claim his first 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour £10,000 winner’s cheque.

The 27-year-old finished 11 under par, with Chesterfield’s George Woolgar (Capitalservices) and Simon Lilly (Wellingborough) sharing second place on ten under.

Belt (De Vere) has come close to winning on the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour several times in the past but has been unable to complete the job and admits he is relieved to finally get that monkey off his back.

“It feels like a big weight has been lifted off me now and hopefully I can progress and not have to play worrying about choking on the last few holes,” he admitted.

“Towards the end I know that Simon had got to ten under and I was on 11 at the time and, especially with the 18th coming up, I knew that I would like to have a cushion but unfortunately it wasn’t the case and I had to try and make par on the last, which luckily I did.

“I haven’t been playing that well over the last few weeks so I decided to have a week off where I didn’t hit a single golf ball. I tried to change my approach a little bit and block out thoughts of how I am playing. That was a little bit harder today with the prize at the back of your mind!

“Hopefully I can continue improving and I will be trying to get another win in this season.”

Belt held a two-stroke overnight lead and began his final round confidently with back-to-back birdies. He bogeyed the third but quickly made amends when he birdied the fourth. A final birdie followed at six to take Belt to 12 under but he dropped a shot at 11.

With Lilly and Woolgar already in the clubhouse on ten under, Belt knew he couldn’t afford to drop a shot on the long par-five 18th. He found the island green in three, with a fine approach shot landing just feet from the flag. His birdie putt stopped on the edge of hole but he tapped in for par to claim the £10,000 winner’s prize and a brand new Motocaddy trolley.

Mark Laskey (Brocket Hall) and Paul Reed (Bristol & Clifton Golf Club) finished tied fifth on eight under par, three behind winner Belt.

Wallis shoots 65 to win Europro Tour Kerry London Championship

Richard Wallis shot a final-round 65 to win the PGA EuroPro Tour’s Kerry London Championship by seven strokes to Nick McCarthy.

Wallis (Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club) began the last day on Burhill Golf Club’s New Course as joint leader with McCarthy and his seven-under-par last 18 took him to 15 under for the tournament, earning him the £10,000 winner’s cheque, a brand new Motocaddy trolley and an invite to the Challenge Tour’s Scottish Hydro Challenge.

The victory is Wallis’ first on the PGA EuroPro Tour and comes on the back of a successful 2012 on the PGA South Region Order of Merit, which earned him his card on the UK’s number one tour.

“It feels fantastic to win my first event on the PGA EuroPro Tour,” said Wallis. “Nick and I had a very good battle on the front nine and it was holing a couple of sneaky 30 footers on 12 and 13 that was the difference.

“The greens are so good that you can hole from anywhere. They are a decent speed so when you hit from 30 feet you are able to sneak them in.

“It’s only my second PGA EuroPro Tour tournament so I am over the moon to get my first win on the tour. I played at Wentworth last week and that stood me in good stead to come here this week.”

Wallis shot eight birdies on his final round but a bogey on the par-three 18th prevented him from equalling the course record of 64, set by Billy Fowles en route to winning the 2012 Kerry London Championship.

“I wanted to finish with a two and get nine under,” he said. “If you ask any golfer you want to hole any putt. My pitch mark was on the line so I had to hit it far enough to get over it but I was trying to hole it.”

McCarthy (Moortown Golf Club) shot a level-par 72 to conclude the week eight under. He began well with back-to-back birdies to take the outright lead on ten under but bogeys at four and nine saw him drop back. He remained in contention with birdies at ten and 11, though by this stage Wallis was beginning to build his lead and a double bogey on the 17th had no bearing on McCarthy’s final standing, with Wallis already six shots clear by that point.

Spaniard Sebastian Garcia Grout (Golf de Poniente Mallorca) shot three rounds of 70 to finish third on six under and last year’s winner Fowles (Wentworth) concluded the week fourth on four under.

Highlights of the Kerry London Championship will air four times on Sky Sports HD on Wednesday, June 12. The next PGA EuroPro Tour event is the PDC and World Snooker Open at Collingtree Park in Northampton, beginning on Wednesday, June 19.

Wisley golfer records first professional win at Motocaddy Masters

Dan Waite won the Motocaddy Masters by one stroke to Paul Grannell and Stiggy Hodgson after he finished one under par in the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour season opener at Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Norfolk on Thursday.

Waite, based at Wisley Golf Club in Surrey, holed a birdie putt on the 18th to record a one-under-par final-round 72 and beat overnight leader Hodgson (Wisley Golf Club) and Grannell (Vale Royal Abbey), who shot the week’s best score of 68. Waite won £10,000 and a brand new Motocaddy trolley and also secured an invite to the Scottish Hydro Challenge event on the Challenge Tour.

The 24-year-old opened his final round with a bogey but made birdies at three and four. He dropped down the leaderboard after a bogey at seven and a double on the eighth but birdies at 14, 15 and 18 saw him conclude the tournament one under par.

“It feels great to get my first professional win under my belt,” said Waite. “I want to take it from here and try and get a couple more.

“This morning I thought I had a shout. I saw Billy Fowles had finished strongly yesterday and had given himself a bit of a lead but I felt if I stayed patient and tried to get some birdies I would have a chance.

“I thought I would need a birdie on the 18th and I knew I just needed a good drive and that would give me a good chance of making the green in two. I hit a good second shot and then holed the birdie putt.”

Grannell had a nervous wait in the clubhouse after he signed for a five under two hours before the final groups completed their rounds. The 27-year-old began the day nine strokes off leader Fowles but a birdie at the third and four on the last six holes saw him complete the week level par.

Hodgson was second overnight but shot four bogeys on his final round. An eagle three at the 14th was his only par breaker on the final day.

Overnight leader Fowles struggled in his closing round and finished tied sixth, three over for the tournament, after recording a third-round 80, three-over-par.

James Robinson (Southport & Ainsdale) and Nick McCarthy (Moortown Golf Club) finished tied fourth on two over par.

Highlights of the Motocaddy Masters will air on Sky Sports HD on Wednesday, May 15.

Billy Fowles leads the Motocaddy Masters by two strokes to Stiggy Hodgson ahead of the final round of the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour season opener at Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Norfolk.

Fowles (Wentworth) shot eagles on the par-five 14th and 18th holes on his way to a three-under-par 70 on day two and goes into the final round four under.

He made birdies at the fourth and 15th but bogeys on the fifth, ninth and tenth restricted his lead to two shots.

Former Walker Cup player Hodgson (Wisley Golf Club), who was one over par after the first 18, also shot a three-under 70 on day two and is second on the leaderboard after 36 holes. He opened with back-to-back birdies at one and two and after three pars gained another shot at the par-five sixth.

A bogey six at 16 cost Hodgson a shot but a birdie on the par-five last returned his score to two under.

“You have to be careful, you have to be clever,” he said after his second round. “I am not a big hitter, I just plotted my way around and took my chances when I had them.

“There are still 18 holes to play and anything can happen over a round of golf. I am used to having the TV cameras on me from my Walker Cup experience so that might help me tomorrow.”

James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City Golf Club) is third, three strokes behind leader Fowlers. He signed for a second-round 70 on the par-73 Wensum Course to take his score to one under. He made birdies at seven, nine, 14 and 15 with a solitary bogey five on the third the only blemish on his card.

Four golfers – Bruce Mcdonald, Paul Reed, Dan Waite and Elliot Saltman - are tied fourth on level par.

A cut to the leading 50 players plus ties has now been made, with golfers seven over par or better proceeding to play Thursday’s final round. Spectator entry is free and Sky Sports are at the course filming for a highlights package to be screened on Wednesday, May 15. The final group are due to tee off at 12:21pm. Live scoring is available at www.europrotour.com.

Joy and Smith lead Motocaddy Masters after opening round

Luke Joy and Max Smith share a one-stroke lead on two under par after the opening round of the Motocaddy Masters at Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country club in Norfolk.

Elliot Saltman and Billy Fowles are tied third in the first event of the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour season, with James Maw and David Rawluk a further shot behind on level par.

Joy (Broadstone Golf Club) and Smith (Donnington Grove Country Club) signed for 71s on the par-73 Wensum Course on Tuesday. Smith made birdies at eight, 14 and 15 but bogeyed the 17th to deny himself the outright 18-hole lead.

Joy’s round was more of a mixed bag with three bogeys and five birdies. The 24-year-old made his 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour debut last year and gained a high category at this season’s Qualifying School, where he finished tied sixth from a Final Stage field of 240 golfers.

“I played really solid today,” said Joy after his first round. “I got off to a solid start and shot five birdies but I had a bit of a wobble on ten and 11, which are tough holes.

“You have to be quite strategic off the tee here. You have to hit driver quite a lot and it is imperative to find the fairway otherwise you are chipping out all of the time.

“I am playing very nice at the moment and putting really well which is nice. I think it is a matter of time until I get a really low one in there.”

Saltman (Archerfield Links) missed out on the Challenge Tour card that comes with finishing in the top five on the 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit last year by just £73 and had to recover from a double-bogey six on the first to record an opening-round 72 and share third place with Wentworth-based Fowles.

Former Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard shot a 79 in his first tournament round as a professional golfer. The 34-year-old steadied after starting with four bogeys and a double over the first five holes. He birdied 12 but bogeys at 15 and 16 took him to six over.

The Motocaddy Masters is a 54-hole strokeplay event. The second round will be played on Wednesday, May 1 after which a cut will be made with the leading 50 players plus ties playing a final 18 holes on Thursday, May 2.

Spectator entry is free of charge throughout the event. Sky Sports will be at the course on both Wednesday and Thursday filming for a highlights package to be screened on Wednesday, May 15.

PGA Europro Tour season begins with Motocaddy Masters

The 2013 PGA EuroPro Tour season gets underway this week with the Motocaddy Masters at Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Norfolk.

The Wensum Course at the venue will once again host what has become the traditional curtain-raiser on the PGA EuroPro Tour where last year Newbury’s Dan Seymour won a dramatic play-off by sinking a birdie on the 18th to defeat Liam Burns.
The winner will walk away with £10,000, a brand new Motocaddy trolley and will be invited to take part in the Challenge Tour’s Scottish Hydro Challenge in June by virtue of being guaranteed a place in the Order of Merit top five after the first three EuroPro Tour events of the season.

Among the field will be Sheringham golfer William Harrold. The 24-year-old is about to embark on his second season on the PGA EuroPro Tour and is hoping the experience he has gained over the last 12 months will stand him in good stead this year.

“The more tournaments you play the more experience you gain so I am certainly more experienced going into this season,” he said.

“Missing cuts on the EuroPro Tour is easy; you don’t have to play badly to miss cuts because the standard is so high. But I made a few cuts last summer and gained valuable experience over the winter.

“I have been in Spain, Morocco and I got a start on the European Tour in Dubai, which was great. That sets your goals really high because you know what you have to look forward to.

“I have played the course recently. They have added some new holes at Wensum Valley this year and it is drier than last year so I have no idea what the scoring will be like. The standard is very high on the EuroPro Tour and I think everybody is capable of winning an event.”

The Motocaddy Masters will take place over 54 holes, with a cut to the leading 50 players plus ties taken after the second round.

A two-hour highlights package of the event will be broadcast four times on Sky Sports HD, with the first airings on Wednesday, May 15 at 11am and 7pm.

Live scoring from the event will be available at www.europrotour.com

New look bag range launched including our lightest bag yet

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new look bag range for this season, restyled to offer a more contemporary look and provide an impressive array of features.

The Pro-Series model – our best-selling cart bag and winner of several independent media tests – has been re-designed with a new pattern and now comes in four fashionable colours of Black/Silver, Black/Lime, Alpine/Red and Alpine/Blue.

Made from premium PU material, the Pro-Series bag has 14 full-length dividers, seven pockets and external wells for a putter and umbrella. Other notable features include a detachable rain hood, velcro glove grip, pen holder, insulated beverage pocket and a dry valuables pocket to protect important possessions.

The sleek Club-Series cart bag, which incorporates 14 club dividers – three more than its predecessor – features new external wells for both a putter and umbrella. It comes in new classy colour offerings of Black/Red, Black/Blue and Black/Lime.

The Hybrid-Series, the first model designed to function fully as a cart and stand bag, offers even more features following its launch last year. Three club dividers are added to provide 14 in total, plus an external umbrella well and dry valuables pocket. The bag has a quick-release stand mechanism and dual strap making it flexible to use, but, like the Pro and Club-Series models, it also incorporates the bespoke anti-twist base to keep it in place on any of our trolleys.

The compact Lite-Series bag is a brand new model for 2013 and at only 2.1kg is the lightest bag that we have ever produced. Manufactured from a super-lightweight nylon and featuring 14 dividers plus external umbrella well and anti-twist base, the Lite-Series bag is available in Black/Red, Black/Lime and Silver/Lilac colourways.

“The new Pro-Series and Club-Series bags are more stylish than ever before, particularly with the introduction of the Lime colour-way,” said Marketing Manager Oliver Churcher. “Through customer feedback we know that there is a big demand for a lightweight, compact golf bag and the new Lite-Series ticks all the boxes."

“The Hybrid-Series provides that different option for golfers, because it’s as good for carrying as it is for using with the trolley – particularly important when the weather makes cart-use unpredictable,” added Churcher.

The Club-Series, Hybrid-Series and Lite-Series bags are available now, with the Pro-Series model launching mid-March.

Former Motocaddy Masters champ wins Europro Tour Championship

Former Motocaddy Masters Champion, Paul Maddy has won the PGA EuroPro Tour Championship at Woburn with a winning score of 10 under par.

Maddy, winner of the Motocaddy Masters in 2009 at The Players Club, Bristol not only picked up the £15,000 cheque, but in doing so also progressed to the 2013 Challenge Tour. The top five on the PGA EuroPro Tour Order of Merit are awarded full cards and Maddy joins Duncan Stewart, Stuart Manley, Wallace Booth and James Hepworth on the second tier of European Golf.

Maddy began the final round with a four-shot lead and a level-par final round ensured he won the event. He was going well over the first six holes, with five pars and a birdie. However, a double bogey at seven gave the chasing pack hope and his birdie two at eight was quickly cancelled out with a bogey at nine. At 12 he suffered a second double bogey, leaving a three-way tie for the lead at seven under between himself, Hepworth and Duncan Stewart.

However, a magnificent eagle at 13 restored parity and Maddy concluded his round with four pars and a birdie at 17 to earn the £15,000 winner’s cheque.

“I made a sloppy double bogey on the hole before,” he reflected. “I stood on the following hole, hit the tee shot a little too far left but then hit it from 135 yards, 4 foot past the hole and spun it back in. You just know it is your day when that happens."

This season was the seventh consecutive year that Motocaddy has been selected as the Official Electric Trolley of the PGA Europro Tour and we would like to congratulate all winners and order of merit qualifiers on an excellent season.

Congratulations to David Scully from Galway Golf Club on being crowned the 2012 TopGolfer Tour Champion. The two day season finale, hosted at the stunning Fota Island Resort just outside Cork, Ireland, saw David beat off stiff competition with impressive rounds of 69 and 70 for a 3-under total of 139.

Played on the Deerpark Course, this season's tour championship final saw 40 Scratch Cup and Order of Merit qualifiers battle it out on a course designed for championship golf, having twice hosted the Irish Open over the last decade.

After hitting a superb 8-iron approach to the final green, followed by a snaking birdie putt, David said:

"I’ve never been so nervous in my life – I’ve played Senior Cups, Barton Shields and even represented Ireland twice, but this is by far my biggest win to date and I’m absolutely thrilled to be Irelands’ TopGolfer Champion 2012".

Winner of two TopGolfer Junior Scratch Cups in 2012 (Lough Erne and Charlesland) Michael Ryan from Tipperary Golf Club took second place on 141. Third place was Alan Condren from Greystones Golf Club with 143.

Dan Seymour, from Newbury Golf Centre in Berkshire, won a dramatic play-off at Wensum Valley GC in Norfolk on Friday (27 April) to win the opening event of this year’s 888poker.com PGA EuroPro Tour and become Motocaddy Masters champion for 2012.

In an event cut from 54 to 36 holes due to heavy rain, 24-year-old Seymour shot a final round 72 to tie with Sundridge Park’s Liam Burns, before birdying the second sudden death play-off hole to claim the £10,000 winners’ prize.

After his first EuroPro victory since joining the Tour in 2010, the new Motocaddy Masters champion said: “When you play in bad weather it’s more about your attitude than anything else…and when I saw I was one behind walking down the last, I thought I’ve got to go after that score.”

This year marks the seventh consecutive year that Motocaddy has been the ‘Official Electric Trolley’ of the EuroPro Tour and previous winners of the Motocaddy Masters title include current European Tour player Daniel Gaunt.

“It was great to see so many talented young players battling it out for the Motocaddy Masters title and our congratulations go to Dan on his victory,” said Chairman David Wells. “Many of the players on the EuroPro Tour use a Motocaddy trolley and we always value their feedback on its performance when coming up with new innovations.”

Protect your health and improve your scores with Motocaddy

We are proud to announce that we have become an official partner of the Tour Fit for Golf programme – launched in conjunction with The European Tour Performance Institute to help improve the health and performance levels of golfers.

Devised through research headed by JJ Rivet, Biomechanics Consultant to the European Tour, the programme has proven that carrying a bag or pulling a trolley changes your physiological walking action and subsequently disrupts the balancing effect of the shoulder muscles that are crucial when swinging the golf club. The result can be dropped shots and a long-term back or shoulder problem.

To achieve peak performance on the golf course, Rivet says, golfers should conserve all their energy and direct it towards shot-making – rather than on excessive movements needed to pull or carry clubs.

“Players can be picking up or putting down bags more than 100 times every round and this has a direct effect on the leg and hip muscles connected to the shoulder movements for a golf swing,” he said.

"You never see a tournament professional carrying a bag or pulling a trolley in practice rounds because these guys understand the importance of optimising performance, rather than expend energy or risk injury. For golfers without the luxury of a caddie, the next best thing is an electric trolley,” Rivet added.

Chairman David Wells said: “Motocaddy is delighted to become an official partner of the Tour Fit for Golf programme. Research shows that tiredness actually comes from pulling or carrying clubs – rather than playing – and so we’re seeing an increase in golfers opting to use an electric trolley to improve their game.”

The Motocaddy Lithium battery, which is suitable for both the popular S1 and S3 Digital trolleys, allows golfers to play up to 36 holes a day. At 2.5kg in weight, it also ensures players avoid the muscle-damaging movements associated with lifting heavier traditional batteries.”

“Motocaddy Lithium sales have increased significantly from last year and one factor is that golfers are demanding the lightest, most efficient batteries to allow them to play more holes with less physical strain,” added Wells.

Brett Rumford chooses Motocaddy over brand rivals

Australian European Tour star Brett Rumford has become the latest high-profile professional golfer to join forces with Motocaddy.

The three-time European Tour winner was preparing for a final effort to win big prize money in the Race to Dubai at his new home club, The Wisley in Surrey, but required the most reliable trolley to help his game.

After a bad experience with a rival trolley that left him stranded on the course, he turned to the brand that his in-laws back in Perth swear by and got himself a new Motocaddy S3 Digital.

“It’s just perfect,” said Brett, who is currently 28th on the European Tour money list for the year. “What I like about it is how it runs true – it just rolls through straight and doesn’t veer left or right like a lot of other trolleys do.

“Another thing is just how simple it is to operate,” he added. “It’s obviously very well made with solid components. The dials are easy to use and the whole thing with the lithium battery is so light. The opening and closing mechanism is great and it folds down in one go without anything catching.”

Brett, a three-time winner on the European Tour who finished runner up at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in August and tied 2nd at the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea last April, plans to use his S3 trolley a lot.

“I’ll be playing up to three or four times a week in practice in the weeks ahead and the trolley will be getting a lot of use,” he said. In fact, he’s so impressed with his Motocaddy that he’s arranged to have an S1 sent to Royal Perth to be available when he practices Down Under.

Brett joins current Europro Tour Order of Merit leader Daniel Gaunt and leading former amateur legend Gary Wolstenholme, who both use the S3 Digital on Tour.
